My dad comes to visit once a week and always brings a little gift for my 3 year old son. Guess what he brought this week? A harmonica! Who gives a 3 year old a harmonica?! Of course now my dad is gone and Jamin is running around happily 'playing' his new toy. Next time Jamin goes to visit his grandparents, I'm sending the harmonica with him.

Haha! Oh yes all my kids grandparents are always buying them the most annoying toys! And they do it on purpose & even say so lol! I'd send that harmonica back to them too!

LMAO, lovely, isn't it?
When I was pregnant with Mason, I said to everyone "NO NOISY TOYS", and threatened that I'd throw them off the patio. So of course, we got lots of noisy toys. The WORST was when an aunt took us shopping, we went to the dollar store and she got the kids those horns for bikes (except my kids didn't have bikes yet, lol)...then showed them how to take the ball off the end and BLOW into it. I think by the time we got home, even SHE was annoyed, and they didn't last long before I snuck them out into the trash, lmao!

I am NOTORIOUS for doing things like that. My girlfriend with the 4.5 year old? Oh yea, lots of motorized trucks with beeps and sounds. I even give extra batteries with the presents :p
I have a lot of friends who don't plan on having children, so I KNOW they'll do the same to me. Karma will get me back, I'm not too worried, lol!

LOL bike horns! That's pretty bad. I'm waiting for the interest in the harmonica to subside so I can hide until the next visit to the grandparents.

My brother used to get my boys noisy toys until I one upped him with Boomwhackers (http://www.hearthsong.com/hearthsong/product.do?section_id=0&bc=1005&pgc=60&cm_mmc=Tagged-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA) for his step son. Since then the noisy toys have stopped. :)
I do get rid of noisy toys, or I remove the batteries if they are a truck or something that can be played with silently. I'm a mean mother that way. :)

And this is why I have my kids birthdays at my parents house. LOL The noisy toys seem to have a way of staying there. LOL

Haven't had problems with grandparents (knock on wood...) or noisy toys.
But my SIL gave my daughter a lite brite and all the 100's of pegs to my daughter when she turned 3. The next christmas her kids got the messiest craft project kits I could find...
