- Journaling reads: One step closer to achieving my goals, one step closer to earning my Bachelor’s degree. That’s how I felt when I graduated from USC Salkehatchie in May 2003. I earned an Associate of Science degree and finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA. I also won the G.H. Kearse English Award, so I guess, all in all, it was a pretty good night! The whole family was there to watch me walk including you, my little sweetie pie. You had just turned two and were not a big fan of sitting still for long periods of time, but nonetheless you were a good girl overall, although you would NOT let us take a picture with you wearing my graduation cap! Nope, you were having none of that. The next step in my journey to my bachelor’s degree was beginning USC Aiken in August. I was excited, nervous, and most of all, just ready to get things started. I couldn’t wait to be done with school and begin my career, and with this latest accomplishment, I was almost there. Just two more years to go! I was hoping they would go by really fast!
