This is such a beautiful note to your child and a wonderful example of how we, as people and as parents, don't even realize that "we don't know what we don't know" (about language/inclusiveness/privilege/etc) until it's basically right in front of our nose. Thank you for doing your best to re-frame your thinking and language. I'm sure they appreciates it and loves you all the more for it!
