- Journaling reads: A few summers ago, I decided it would be fun to go strawberry picking. Since we had never been, it seemed like a fun experience for everyone. After doing some research online, I discovered a berry farm about 45 minutes from our house where you could pick your own strawberries. It sounded perfect! We checked out their website to make sure the strawberries were still in season, and on a Sunday afternoon, we set off on our berry-picking adventure. After some questionable navigation courtesy of the GPS, we finally found the place. Imagine our surprise and disappointment when we found out they had plowed up all the strawberries the previous weekend. The season was over, and we were too late. Although I was majorly bummed, we made the best out of the situation by browsing some of the other berry offerings and taking goofy pictures with the giant strawberry sign. Lesson learned: if you want to pick strawberries, go earlier in the season!
