I did & I still need to find the right combo of bags/heat, I had a combination of bags from 2 different stores. But I have 1 imperfect bag done, a 7x8x11.

Imperfect or not - lets see it!!

I'm with Jae...let's see that bag chica!!!

I am making those photo cubes for my girlfriends for XMAS and I think my DD want's one so gonna make her one too and may even make one for the inlaws...gonna make my mom a photobook of random LO's that I have done throughout the years....and I already printed 12x12 Digi LO's from my BIL's wedding {4} and gonna put them in 4 frames and give them for XMAS :) I also want to make those cute clocks for my nieces and nephews for XMAS, so we will see if I can get around to it!!!! They LOVE homemade gifts, so we will see :)

I've decided on a couple other things for gifts:
-MIL gets one of those awesome photo cubes with some personalized pens.
-Dad/SM are getting hand beaded wine glass charms orange/black & I'm going to try to find some motorcycle charms for them

I try very hard not to make anything for Christmas except maybe a Shutterfly book or two and the Christmas card. :p

I did buy my daughter the dress she'll be wearing in the family pictures we'll be taking in a couple months for the Christmas card. Does that count for something?! *lol*

Ebony 09-10-2010 10:34 PM

My God you women are talented. Loving this thread, so many ideas I wouldn't know where to start - so I probably won't :p

I just love Darcy's first suggestion and the pic - Icecream gets it's own bag? That's my kind of household

LOL Ebs - you are always sure to make me smile! :)

allboyz 09-12-2010 01:11 AM

You guys are all SOOO versatile and talented! I am happy if I have time to scrap! These are all amazingly wonderful ideas!
All I have pinned down are these CD Desktop Calendars for my kids school teachers, and my co-workers.
I may print some calendars and little single sided photo flip books with Persnickety too, they are offering free binding on any project.

I forgot to mention that I always bake cookies and make candies with my other bff .... but here are just 4 of the items dh has made so far... he is obsessing with these bowls right now ... lol I absolutely LOVE the stacking bowls... thinking would be good for chips and dip or fruit and dip.

Your bag is so cute Amanda!!! And I really love the idea of making wine charms.... Now if I can get my act together I know what I'm making for DH's side of the family! :D

mpatry 09-12-2010 06:22 PM

I've decided on a few things...

Ribbon Key fobs (just need the ribbon to get started)
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ry/KeyFobs.jpg

Crocheted mary jane slippers for my sisters

some cute little Amigurumi crochet animals (I'm thinking of turning some tiny turtles into key rings for my sisters, and making a teddy bear or doll for my DD)

And I just have to figure out what to do for my mom and inlaws, I'm thinking... maybe photo cubes?

Cute bag!! Check Hobby Lobby for the charms ... hey I found a ROBOT charm there a few weeks ago ... if they have a robot, why wouldn't they have a motorcycle? lol

Sharon Kay 09-13-2010 10:14 AM

I have made several different kinds of calendars ... and it appears I don't take pictures of them after they are finished ...

I made Stacy a perpetual calendar that hangs on the wall ... narrow and long.

I made my dh a CD calendar, a wall calendar, a trifold type desk calendar ...

... I am trying to figure out what kind I want to make him this year ... drats on not having pictures of these...just have the saved layouts...

Thanks!
We have no Hobby Lobby here & I'm not really sure where the closest one is. The nearest craft store, is Michaels, JoAnns, or Craft Warehouse & they are an hours drive away, so we don't get up there much.

I was thinking about making my own charms with scrabble blocks & mod podging some digi-stuff to them (at least if I can't find 4 different charms).

heathergw 09-13-2010 10:40 AM

I usually only do calendars and buy for the kids, nieces and nephew... but this year I think I'm going to make handbags for the nieces and Moriah and fill them with age appropriate little things... and my nephew and Isaac I'm still thinking about what to do... but this year I'm determined to make all the Christmas gifts.

Last year I made all my friends aprons for our annual baking day. They were so surprised - didn't even know I could sew. ;)
http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/r...ar6/aprons.jpg

I've also made journals - these are paper, but you could definitely turn these into digi hybrid.

Thank you sooooo MUCH for sharing your ideas!! They are all so beautiful!! The aprons are so cool, love the print, it's too late for me to do these for this Christmas but may do them for birthdays. I've really been wanting to sharpen my sewing skills :)

ColleenSwerb 11-09-2010 10:47 AM

I want every single one of these patterns.
http://www.etsy.com/shop/dangercrafts

My mom surprised me last week and bought me the pattern for Penelope the Empathetic Monster. I also want the Christmas Ornaments ones to try and make those.

My Christmas present ideas are always last minute. Always. I tend to not over do it with homemade stuff to try and avoid that. All I know for sure is that I want to finish a blanket for my sister, and a blanket for my SIL who is going to be studying abroad this spring.

kristijoy 11-09-2010 02:54 PM

Oooh! I love the ornament ideas!!!

.

The robots and kitties are ADORABLE!

I don't know how to knit though. And probably couldn't learn in time to tackle this for Christmas.

But they are soooo cute!

Sharon Kay 11-10-2010 11:47 AM

Anybody else come up with some neat ideas???

MandaT 11-10-2010 12:01 PM

I've found some cute ideas around.

Here are a few things we'll be making:
Personalized Coffee cups (from the $$ store)
Beaded ornament hooks with homemade ornaments
Beaded Wine glass charms with a set of personalized wine glasses (not sure how we're doing it yet)
CD desk caddy cube with personalized journal/pen
Magnet sets (bottle caps & big 'rocks')
Patchwork book bag
Altered REcipe box or Fabric covered recipe binders & menu board, with an apron

Penny Springmann 11-10-2010 12:26 PM

Sharon, your husband's wood working is fabulous!!!

I love the idea of making a collection of cards!

newfiemountiewife 11-10-2010 01:40 PM

My calendars are done and sent to print, and my cards are done and sent to print. So that much is DONE.

I am trying to figure out what to do for the kids teachers, Benjamin has a "man" teacher this year, so that's going to be different! Any ideas (crafty or not) for him? LOL

MandaT 11-10-2010 01:56 PM

Forgot to say the mini-calendars, I've got 2 months left to do. 4x6's

We've had several male teachers in the past - we always did restaurant gift cards.

hollyxann 11-11-2010 05:15 PM

I really need to find the discipline to crack down and work on some projects and decide what I want to do for who.

I think car wash gift cards would be great too!

mummytothree 11-11-2010 07:04 PM

Oh if you do a car wash gift card look at this cute craft from Family Fun!!

Happy Travels Car Sachet
http://familyfun.go.com/assets/cms/c...510GIFTA03.jpg

Or Jamie my oldest has had a male teachers for the last 3 years and they all loved my standard Video Store Gift card, box of Microwave Popcorn, 2 boxes of Movie candy all stuffed in a big movie theater popcorn looking box...let me see if I can find the one I buy from Dollar tree!!!

Like this

If you don't have a local Video Store you could always do a GC to like WalMart or include a purchased Movie with a gift receipt!!!!

LoriC777 11-11-2010 07:04 PM

Oh My WORD! You ladies are all so crafty!! I feel like I just fell into crafting heaven!!! Each year I make little lightbulb ornaments out of a night light and Sculpy (Polymer) Clay. Here is one I have done this year so far (my daughter is in LOVE with Penguins)..
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1486227_n.jpg
sorry the pic is crappy quality, I took it with my iPhone and the lighting isn't the best in here..

When I was a rubber stamper I would take a huge photo box full of completed cards to my in-laws Christmas celebration. I'd give each women in the group a ziploc bag with 6 envelopes in it. They took turns looking through the cards and selected 6 to take home with them. They all loved that they could chose the cards that spoke to them and I loved all the compliments I got. I know they actually used the cards too. I should totally do that again this year with hybrid cards. They would be so excited to have a card stash again. LOL!

For those of you that don't want to iron on to recylcing bags, you can always have bags printed at Arts Cow and if you can find a promotion they aren't too expensive.

I just ordered my 2010 holiday ornaments from Arts Cow, they are running a Facebok promotion so it's only $1.99 per porcelin ornament shipped. I'm also making a puzzle for each of the families in our camping group. We got a great group shot on our Fall trip this year and I thought it would be a unique and fun family gift. For $5.99 shipped it seems like a great deal. :)

I'm planning on making calendars for me, my mom, my SIL and my sister. My MIL never really commented on hers so I'm going to assume she doesn't want a new one for next year.

I made the little pocket calendars for my co-workers last year, but I haven't decided what to make this year for them. Any ideas?

I already bought Yankee Candles Med Jars for my DD's 2 - 3rd grade teacher but we'll take an afternoon and sew some little fabric Christmas bags to wrap them in so there is a homemade touch and something they can use over and over.

My 11 yo DD is working on some different drink and bath mixes for her aunts and my mom for the holidays. I think it's so cute she wants to make her own presents already!

That's probably all I can reasonably get done.

I want one of those!

I just made recipe albums for my parents and in-laws. I used Shabby Princess's recipe cards (download from last year), had them printed at Snapfish as a 4x6 spiral bound brag book. I probably didn't spend as much time as I should making sure it didn't cut off anything important when bound, but I'll just go back in and write on it with a Sharpie if I need to fix it. Gah. I'm so lazy.

I'm not making presents for anyone but the dog this year. He's getting a nice new coat:

The dog isn't mine (pictures are from the tutorial I'm using), but he is a greyhound.

I am doing this project here -> http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/cg_d...&seed_id=31246 <- to give to my girl friends and sister (maybe mom, b/c she'll be jealous if I don't give one to her) w/ my phone numbers already inside

Misty Cato 12-02-2010 09:10 PM

When I was a kid, my mom always did candy wreaths for my grandpa. My mom loves bubble gum, so this year the kids and I made her one. It turned out cute and was super easy to do.
