Actually, I've been thinking about a trip to The Hague and to Keukenhof for some years now, and hopefully can do it this year, so Holland is not as lonely as it seems to be. :-) Amsterdam is a part of my plans, too, but I don't think this year.

Hahaha, shall I tell you a joke? I have lived approx. 5km from the Keukenhof....and I never been there :o Hihi. The only thing I see are loads of buses going there :p But it is beautiful....I know that for sure!

I totally believe you! That's the way it is. I'm 2 hours away from Paris (if I took TGV) and in my 6 years in Luxembourg, I haven't been there, even though it seems weird to everybody including me. But you beat me, 5 km *is* much closer, hehe. :-)

We're actually planning a trip to Keukenhof in May when some friends from the US will be here visiting. DH and I have been there before it was a year that they held the Elf Fantasy fair there. Beautiful place.

As for being lonely, being that I live in Zuid Limburg we pretty much stay lonely here...most people don't choose to visit this far south. But that is one of the reasons we live here...a bit quieter. :)

I want to go to Holland. I dated a guy from there once, he passed away after we broke up. I'd like to go there still, though!

Hihi, I lived there for 30 years and drove past the Keukenhof a million times!

Oh and I would love to live in Southern Limburg Firewolf....I can't stand the traffic here sometimes!

Well....my dream vacation was always Australia and New Zealand but....I did that. Spent a whole summer down under back in 2003!!!! Traveled and saw a lot during that time! I would love to go back someday b/c there is still so much to see, expecially in Australia.

So...I guess my next dream vacation would be to travel in Europe....threre are A LOT of places there that I would like to see.

For me it's actually any place (ahem, in Europe) where I can really relax. As far as dreams go, it's always been Scandinavian countries. I went to Finland and Norway, but would love to come back, and Sweden, Denmark, and, most of all, Iceland, are still to be visited.

Last year I almost when to Iceland, but then I got scared by the volcano business, so went to Germany instead, and I haven't had a better vacation in years. So that's why I think the most important thing is who you are with and how you enjoy the trip, the actual location is not that important.

Outside Europe, I find New York and Japan appealing.

Can't believe there'd actually be anyone who dreams of Iceland, and then it's you of all people, Adrianka!
Going to Iceland on vacation always has been my dream, ever since I was a kid! Next up on my list probably would be New Zealand!

DH and I are actually doing "one" of our dream vacation at the end of April. We are flying to New York for 5 nights, then pick up a rental and heading to LA for 5 nights.

For 2 1/2 weeks in between will be heading through Philadelphia, Washington DC, Nashville, Memphis, Dallas, Kansas City, Colorado and onto Vegas. Our plans are kinda loosey goosey so we can stop and stay where we like. Only New York and LA accommodation are booked.

Any tips or ideas on what to see or where to stay, would be greatly appreciated:)

Iceland has been my dream since I was 14 years old. It's just so unique and beautiful and a fairytale-like (in a nicely spooky way, too) and it kind of speaks to me... well you know what I mean. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. :-)

I also dreamed about studying English and Icelandic, but that option wasn't available in Slovakia. Now that Iceland has applied for EU membership there are language courses available at the Commission, but since their start overlapped with Mum's diagnosis and a very bad period of my life, I opted out. But still - what can be better than to learn preserved Old Norse? *dreamy sigh*

Why these destinations? I'm just curious. What a fabulous road trip! Definitely TONS to do in DC, if you can I would probably skip Dallas and go to San Antonio, but maybe some of the Dallas gals can give you ideas for Dallas, it just seems to be a big city to me and not much uniqueness like San Antonio. Go ski in Colorado!! And Vegas, well it is Vegas!! LOL Walk the strip! No idea about New York and LA, but I'm sure you already have ideas there and it will be fabulous! I'm sure you will have a blast and I hope you meet lots of friendly people along your way!

I love San Antonio! There is a ton of things to do there, too!

I have a friend who's dream is Iceland, watching stuff and looking at pictures with him, it looks like a beautiful country.

I wanted NY, DC and LA. We both wanted to take our time and drive across at our own pace. Wanting to head down south towards Houston, DH broke the trip into managable drive times, nothing too long. We want to see things along the way, not just a blur as we drive past. We felt Houston was too far so changed it to Dallas. We are still researching and adjusting our trip. So any input is much appreciated since we planning it using mostly google maps.

While I don't live as close I never visited the Keukenhof:p But I would love to go there this year!

My dream holiday? I would love to travel to the USA again. We went to the New York area 3 times and for our honeymoon we went to all the National parcs and visited Los Angeles, San Fransisco, San Diego, las Vegas and some smaller places and loved it! I would soooooooo love to go back there, but this time with the kids! But I guess this will stay a dream holiday :(

But this year we do our dream holiday in Europe: we go back to Hungaria again and had the most amazing time last year, so we're really looking forward to it!
