I never did actually answer the original question, other than my vote in the poll.
I'm pretty much the odd one out, I think. I started digital scrapping in 2003, even designed for awhile, made a few hybrid projects using digital papers as well. In 2004 I switched completely over to paper and started teaching classes in 2005. Late in 2007 I came back to digital, primarily hybrid layouts. I haven't done any real scrapping for the past year, but I'm working on changing that right now. I'm pretty sure I will stay a paper/hybrid scrapper forever, but I usually do everything digitally first. There is just something about the feel of everything in my hands...Apparently I like to touch everything when I'm scrapping. :) |

While I am sad that small scrapbooking stores are going out of business, I feel a whole lot better buying my scrapbooking supplies here at Sweet Shoppe, knowing that most of the money I spend goes pretty much straight to the designers. I don't like spending my money at big box craft stores too often. I like the fact that many of the designers here are moms who are able to spend time raising their families while having a creative and interesting job.

:) Thats ok. I didnt think about scanning paper supplies so I figured she would know I meant to just scan what she was trying to scrap and do it digitally. Of course I dont know if what she wants to scrap is actually something she could scan but I have scanned stuff like movie tickets and my daughters homecoming or prom tickets to include in the layout for her and it worked ok

When I first started digital, I thought I would never go 100% digital. Ha. I'm 100% digital and don't own any traditional paper, stickers, etc. I do still have my trimmer and some corner punches. Oh and ribbon. But I'm not sure why?

I never paper scrapped but have always saved little momentos. Artwork, cards, ticket stubs etc. So I of course wanted to scrap some of it. So I could either do it all digital by scanning, all paper and lose the actual item in the layout or you could do a hybrid by creating a layout and printing it then adding the item to the layout in some way.

paper scrap? Let's just say I am "scissors challenged" :p

I forgot to add, I bought lots of paper scrapping supplies (including papers, scissors, stamps, eyelet kit, embossing supplies, etc.) and maybe scrapped half a page. The problem was that there was always SOMETHING missing and the page was never really going to look like the fab layouts in the magazines.
I LOVE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING KITS! And they do not take up space in my house. And I actually scrap some pages! Except this month. I am keeping the paper supplies though, because my kids love arts and crafts and I know they'll figure out something to do with everything. And I do like to do some hybrid scrapbooking. I just have no desire to create scrapbook pages on paper. |
I started out paper scrapping but even then I used my computer a lot. I've kept most of my supplies because I like to do non-scrapping crafts too. However, for scrapping, I love digital and have no desire to scrap a traditional page ever again. I feel like I have so much more freedom of expression the digital way.

I do both, but the paper is just for a few occasional pictures and LO's now. I scrap 90% of my LO's digitally.

I picked both only because I still have my dd's first year to paper scrap. I started out paper scrapping in 1997 ... we had to use something called "film" back then. ;) Once I get rid of the "real" pics then I will get rid of my "paper" supplies.
