EWWWW, I don't even have that particular body part and it still hurts to think of that!!!! And LOL, it would be hard to be intimate...who'd want a spider crawling up there???????????:blink::blink:

I like the little ones on people that have a nice nose. Not the hoops on honkers :D I think it would be cute on you. It's your face, do whatever the heck you wanna do with it ;)

if you really wanted to you should. I got my tonhue pierced several years ago but eventually had to take it out because Im allergic to metal and it was causing problems. Kept irritating the area around the piercing and I was getting a small lump forming inside my tongue. I also wanted to get my nose pierved but with the reaction of my tongue piercing Im kinda afraid to to it now

lauren grier 02-20-2009 06:58 PM

teehee...
so really, I always make the snot comment whenever someone gets their nose pierced. Lisa- on our team- she endured a million questions from me. I'm jsut a very sneezy person so I don't think it would go over with me haha.

oh and ita.. I've never had a food issue with my tongue piercing :p I've had it for like 9 yrs now. I had my labret done forever too (that one is gone now).. Of course, the fact that I've had no issues with my mouth.. does not change my mind about my nose hahaha.

oh ps.. whoever asked about plugs and saggy ears (lol). your ears can shrink down- but not all the way after you go past a certain point. I have smaller ones in now than I use to.. and I had to stretch up to this size after having mine out for a few years. I'll never be able to wear normal earrings in that hole though cause I had a dermal punch to start off (had incorrect placement of my original piercing when I was 8 so we just started a hole for me).

That's really interesting to know. And now I'm really curious LOL...is there a general size that's considered point of no return, or does it vary widely from person to person? I'm picturing the 15 yr old I knew, and his plugs were about between the size of a silver dollar and half dollar, and last time I saw him he was planning on going up in size again.

lauren grier 02-20-2009 07:52 PM

the point of no return is usually about a zero gauge (i had gone one gauge higher than that.. and shrank down to about an 10/8- regular earrings are about a 14 or 16) .. the 15yr old was in inches if they were the size of a silver dollar (10,8,6,4,2,0,00 -- those are all measured in mm's and after that htey measure in inches.. so like a 6 is 4mm-that's where i am now that's why I know that lol.. after 00 they start going in like 7/16" then 1/2" I think.. don't quote me on those being correct)-- so past that. He won't ever have normal ears, but they should shrink down a little.

joelsgirl 02-20-2009 08:05 PM

*I* think nose rings are perfectly fine...for people who don't have children in middle school.

i say let Maddie get her nose pierced!

KristinCB 02-20-2009 08:12 PM

I had mine done but they did it with just the stud and not with the hook thing to keep it in while your nose is getting used to it or whatever, the stud kept falling out as I slept and so my nose kept getting irritated by it and got a little infected and i didn't want to be bothered with it anymore. lol

Cool...there's my something new to learn today!

suze 02-20-2009 08:24 PM

You got a yes from me. I think they are cute! Just no big rock okay!

MelindaH 02-20-2009 09:54 PM

The girls I work with at the dental clinic have to put little stickers over their nose rings every single day. And THAT looks really dumb, and it's extremely distracting. I do think they are cute, but if your employer is gonna make you cover it up or take it out, I say what's the point?

But, I see you already decided, hee hee! :)

SeattleSheri 02-20-2009 10:39 PM

I think it might be kind of cute. I can't get one (my job prohibits it, lol) ... but I'm pretty conservative when it comes to piercings and tattoos, etc ... on myself.

lizzyfizzy 02-20-2009 10:58 PM

i'm super duper conservative but i'm crazy cool too. :p ya know...i do the black nail polish on occasion. i think i can pull off the nose piercing. i would do a super small one and i'm a pretty classy chick...so i'm gonna make all you non-nose piercers jealous.

snaggletooth75 02-21-2009 01:11 AM

I had mine done Lizzy but I took it out when my youngest would try to tear it out LOL I hated the goobers that would get stuck to the inside of the nose ring but nose rings are sezzy

cindyg 02-21-2009 10:15 AM

I say.........................YES!

lizzyfizzy 02-21-2009 11:01 AM

woot for all my yes chicks!

ETA: Aren't you going back to school for nursing? A nose piercing might have a negative impact on finding a job.

Yep, this could be an issue.

With that said, it's your face, so you decide. :p

snaggletooth75 02-21-2009 11:47 AM
