Scrapping on an iPad

It’s been forever since I’ve scrapped but now I’m ready to get back into it! I’m trying to use Affinity Photo on my iPad and so far, it is taking a little time to get used to it.

Does anyone else use Affinity Photo? Any good sources for tutorials? I’m trying to figure out shadows right now ...

I still can't wrap my mind around scrapping on an iPad. I guess I still prefer to work with a mouse and bamboo pen more than my fingers.

Welcome back! I can't vouch for these since I use Android devices, but I know that Kelly Sill at Scrapaneers has this class about app scrapping that focuses on Affinity Photo. It's part of a series, but I think the others are about different apps. She also has a review that touches on how to use the shadows and other features of it.

There's a group on facebook where they share tutorilas. Although the group's name is project life, they have lots of tutorials and links for newbies.

It's kind of frustrating that most of the good apps are created for Apple! :p

This is great info; thanks! I just did a Project Life album and it was super easy and quick. Still trying to figure out Affinity Photo so I have a little more flexibility ... :)

Agreed. And when they do come to Android, some of them don't have the same features as the Apple version. I understand that all the Android devices make it a more challenging platform to design for, but every once in a while a new app makes me seriously consider switching to an iPad or iPhone. The Project Life app was one of those, but I knew an Android version was in the works. Affinity is one of them, too. In the end I won't give up my Androids, and soon we'll have a comparable app, but waiting for it makes me feel like a 5 year old.

I use Affinity when I'm scrapping on the go. Make sure to join the group Cherry suggested as I have lots of tutorials on there, and a set of shadow styles so you can start scrapping right away. There will be differences between Affinity and PS/PSE that you'll have to get used to (such as the styles and the move tool) but you can do pretty much anything you want in it. I also like that you can use PSD templates. My most recent layout is done in Affinity.

Wow Grace that's impressive!!

I can't wrap my head around doing anything productive on my tablet! I complain about it more than I use it. About the only good thing my tablet is good for is downloading movies on Netflix to watch while I'm waiting at my kids appointments! :D

But you are right with that pen and the Pro tablet, there's a lot of things you can do! My daughter has both of them and I'm amazed at what she does with it!! I can't wait to see your layouts from your ipad!

[emoji7] Wow - I'm so impressed you scrapped that on a tablet! I need to find out if they're working on an Android version.
