Well, I went to the Bingo Challenge pages and clicked on number 8. I would guess that it doesn't really matter exactly how you get there, as long as it's page 8 of something????

Nikki Epperson 08-10-2015 09:37 PM

To get to page 8 of your own gallery, go to the gallery and click my photos
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08...f7aff025a8.jpg

On the right will be page numbers, click 8 from there. :)

Hope that helps![emoji8]

Anyone done with the 'Back to Basics' page? I checked the gallery and most of them used a kit from Studio Basic, is that what it is? TIA

Back to Basics could be anything. It could be getting back to the reason you started scrapbooking (e.g. preserving a story with a good photo, and not stressing about too much embellishing), or it could be about something like a resolution you've made (e.g. eating right, exercising daily, getting enough sleep, etc). It could be about learning something new and feeling like you're starting from scratch again.

Back to Basics has a wide interpretation, and it is really up to you and what the phrase inspires you to think about.

To quote google, BTW means “by the way,” and is used as it is used in normal, everyday speech – that is, it's used to convey an additional thought that may or may not be related to the original thought that was discussed.

Some things I thought of:

Something offhand your kid has said.
Scrap the thoughts in your head at any given time. (That would be a good one - I bet you have a dozen or more things on your mind at once).
Scrap a time you surprised someone. (BTW, we're not actually going to Nana's for the weekend, we're going to Disneyland! ...etc)
Scrap about the acronyms commonly used in your house at the moment.

cherrygutz 08-28-2015 05:59 AM

ahh, Thanks Jacinda! *thumbsup*

I was wondering... what are ssd pins?
Does that mean scraplift a layout of the ssd pinterest board? Or something else?
I have no clue.

Libby Pritchett 09-04-2015 09:12 AM

I take it to mean that you should find inspiration on the SSD Pinterest boards. It could be a scraplift, a quote, a design style, a color choice, etc.

For those who aren't familiar, you can find the link here:

nietis 09-04-2015 09:23 AM

Thanks LIbby, I was wondering too... Now, to choose from those boards is harddddd

I've heard of it but not quite sure what Labor Day is since I'm from the uk, help? :D

Saar 09-04-2015 11:53 AM

Thank you Libby.

I'm sorry, I'm no help to Labor Day.
We don't celebrate it either.

Libby Pritchett 09-04-2015 12:19 PM

According to the US Dept of Labor website, this is what Labor Day is:

Quote:

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
For the prompt, I'd say you could scrap about anything employmentelated (your job, your spouse's job, the job of a sahm, your dream job, your first job, etc) OR you could probably even go literal with "labor" and do a pregnancy/delivery page, too.

I'd say it's up to you to be creative and determine how you want to interpret the prompt. :)

Gemma 09-04-2015 12:31 PM

Thanks, Libby :)

Saar 09-04-2015 12:32 PM

That makes sense. Thank you Libby.

Robin Carlton 09-04-2015 03:26 PM

Was definitely hoping to see some Birth Story pages for Labor Day for sure! So get creative. It was mostly a play on words as I was creating this month's card!

jak 09-04-2015 05:14 PM

I was thinking of doing something on my son's birth - he was born on May 1 which happens to be Labour Day in many countries (ours is in October), and I laboured!!

eve11ne 10-09-2015 06:27 PM

Are we allowed to use Jenn & La's kits for Bingo challenges now that they're (about to) retired, at least for this month?

I bought quite lots of theirs during the retirement sale :p

Thanks! :)

Libby Pritchett 10-09-2015 06:48 PM

Eve, I'd say yes for October on Jenn & La. :) Not after this month though.

Hope that helps! :)

eve11ne 10-09-2015 09:13 PM

awesome!
thanks Libby!

JennNtheBoys 10-12-2015 02:31 PM

Thanks Libby.... I was about to ask the same thing. :)

PS: Robin, love the new avatar pic!!!

Robin Carlton 10-12-2015 02:44 PM

Thanks Jenn! Just getting in the trick or treat spirit!

rdjrneace 11-07-2015 07:47 AM

Can you use the free with purchase kits for the challenges?

Libby Pritchett 11-07-2015 11:24 AM

Yes you may! :) As long as the products you use are my current SSD designers, you can use anything (freebies, retired, currently in the store, sold elsewhere for a guest spot). The main thing is that the product is from our current designers. :)

rdjrneace 11-21-2015 09:34 PM

I tried looking and can't find an answer -- if I want to do a bingo card diagonally - do I need to do a layout for the free spot or is it "free" meaning I don't need to do a layout for that space?

Yes, you do need to do a layout on the free spot if you're not doing a black out. It's only free if you plan to do black out.

rdjrneace 12-06-2015 08:16 PM

I need some clarification - when the space on the bingo cards reads inside/outside; does that mean I can use one or the other (use a photo about inside or a photo about outside) or do I need to include one of each? Same question when it is naughty or nice -- I am pretty sure I can do one or the other on these but not sure.

Thanks so much, Debbie

I think the challenge is open to your interpretation. So, as long as it is along the line the prompt, you can choose to do just the inside or the outside, the same with the naughty or nice. I hope it helps.

Valgal 12-09-2015 10:29 AM

When are Nov bingo coupons being sent?

Robin Carlton 12-09-2015 04:00 PM

Second full M-F of the month, so they'll be coming out for use next week, Dec 14-18th.

Thank you, Robin :) I never can remember if it's the first or second full week of the month. (note to self: second, second, second...)

Before I take advantage of today's Xmas discount, I just want to double check that we can use retired items for challenges. Thanks in advance for your help! :D

From my understand you can use retired products from CURRENT designers. This is what it says:

The Nitty Gritty

You must use Sweet Shoppe products for the bulk of your page. Outside templates, minor accents, etc. are perfectly ok as long as at a glance the page is obviously created with products from our shoppe and designers!

Challenges MUST remain where they appear on the card. You MAY NOT scrap 9 layouts of your choice and simply put them in the corresponding pattern to earn a discount.

Obviously due to the size of the layouts on the tracker card, it would be difficult for us to check each challenge in detail to make sure it matches with the challenge, but we know we can count on our amazing community to play by the rules.

Unless they change the rules for next year, it is allowed...I'll see if bumping this up will get someone more official to answer.

Yes, as long as the designers of the retired goods are still here, you should be good to use them on challenges :)

mrsashbaugh 12-24-2015 12:29 PM

I found this from Libby, one of the designers, in the FAQ.

when i want to upload some page in the gallery at 160 x 160.
or 600 x600 it says (exceeds filesize limit).
how can it be even with the small size ?

anelia 01-10-2016 11:55 AM

You can upload your image at 700x700 pixels as long as the filesize is lower than 250kb. So you might have to compress your image a bit. Hope this helps :)

renatasluis 01-10-2016 12:42 PM

thats the problem i dont now how to get it under 250 kb.
i used to have a program to compres in my favorites on my laptop., but i have a new laptop and cant find it on the internet anymore :(
does anyone have a tip to compress ?

anelia 01-10-2016 02:06 PM

What program do you use to scrap? In Photoshop you can either use the "save for web" option or just the regular Save/Save As jpg and move the slider until you reach the desired filesize

Libby Pritchett 01-10-2016 02:11 PM

Here's a photoshop tutorial on saving for web that might help.

In this tutorial, it says 600x600 and 150kb, but we've upped that limit now to 700x700 and 250kb.
