#13 - Out on the town
You think I go out and about (insert evil laugh). Okay now that I got my kicks and shared with the group, it's time to get scrapping! :D

adi&co. 02-02-2018 01:24 PM

Blended background... does that mean blend two pages together? blend a pic to the background?

Saar 02-02-2018 01:29 PM

I think that's up to you Adi. You can blend photos or papers or maybe even both.

adi&co. 02-02-2018 01:35 PM

One more question! Can we do something that repeats in our life for groundhogs day like how the movie repeats the day over and over?

Absolutely!

tanyiadeskins 02-02-2018 09:59 PM

for the one that is 14 buttons, can we use 14 or more or should it be exactly 14?

Hey all - my first time playing along so forgive me if this is a dumb question - but what exactly does "Random Act of Kindness" entail? Thanks! :-)

allyanne 02-06-2018 04:16 PM

For the flip a template challenge, does a rotation count? Or does it have to be a horizontal or vertical flip/mirror image?

Random Acts of Kindess is a selfless act performed by kind people to either help or cheer up a random stranger [or it can be someone they know as well], for no reason other than to make people happier.

So you could document someone doing something kind for you* or you* doing something kind/generous for someone else.
*[or a loved one]

I'm good with rotating it, flipping it, or rotating AND flipping it

Gemma 02-07-2018 10:12 AM

#5 - pink. Just checking as I can't remember the rules on colour challenges, can it have other colours as long as it's mainly pink, or does it have to be all pink?

You can use other colors as well. As long as it's obvious that pink is your main color.

ErinShannon 02-08-2018 11:17 PM

Question:

Can we use a kit that is a collab between a current designer and a retired designer and the kit isn't in the store any longer? I made a layout for one of the challenges without thinking about one of the designers being gone. So I figured I better ask first.

Thanks,
Erin

jacinda 02-08-2018 11:19 PM

As long as one of the designers is still here, yes you can use old kits.

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure before I counted it as one of my layouts. :-)

Two questions:
1. What is groundhog day?
2. What is "snack attack"? I mean, I know what "snack" and "attack" mean but...how do I relate this to scrapping?

Saar 02-09-2018 10:35 AM

1. I had to look it up myself. I had no idea what is was! Here's what I found: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundhog_Day

2. You can scrap about eating your favorite snack. Or eating snacks in front of the television watching your favorite show. Or cooking/baking your favorite (or any other) snack.

1.I would scrap about something that repeats itself in your life. Some routine maybe. Like waking up in the middle of the night to feed your baby??

2. I would scrap about my food cravings. I always crave sugar and chocolate for example.

anelia 02-09-2018 12:34 PM

Thank you, girls :)

Question!

My husband and I avoid crowds at all cost and literally never "gone out on the town". The only thing we've ever done is hunting pokemon around the town and chasing the nearby pokemon to random places. Would that sort of page count?

brittbree 02-10-2018 08:10 PM

I'm so sad I have worked on this layout for awhile now..and I finally finished the layout and ready to upload it and everything I do is not good enough..its still too big :( any help?

YEP! You can scrap about the pokemon hunting or even scrap about the "never going out on the town" too if you want!

Hmmm I am sorry that I am not understanding your question/problem here. Are you unable to upload your layout to the gallery? If so, maybe because you need to resize your original 3600x3600 pixels layout to 700x700 and save it as a copy. That way it should be smaller in size and more likely to be able to be uploaded to the gallery.
Here is a tutorial that might help you: https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/t.../save-for-web/

have you tried saving it for web? should be under file>export if you're using photoshop. there's a percentage bar in the top right corner and it will tell you how many kb it is. You have to keep it under 400!

A night out on the town for our family is taking the boys out for ice cream or frozen yogurt  Just use the prompt as a springboard and create something that's meaningful for your family ♥

also be sure you're also flattening the file... and saving it as one layer. not sure that helps, but it's something i often forgot to do when i first started posting to galleries.

Disneysheryl 02-16-2018 03:38 PM

I have a question about the 4 in a corner pattern. Do they have to be diagonal or can you do any 2 corners? Thanks!

You need to do a pattern like the ones given here:
https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...bingo-30-x.jpg https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...o-30-quilt.jpg https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...go-30-plus.jpg
https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...o-30-frame.jpg https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...30-diamond.jpg https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/b...30-corners.jpg

OR
Alternatively, you can scrap any two horizontal or vertical lines, or a combination of one of each, to earn your pattern bingo discount!
Please Note: The rules for the center space still apply!

... or a blackout.
So, to answer your question, you can do two lines on the bingo card or create a cross of one horizontal and one vertical lines. Hope that helps.

AmieN1 02-23-2018 04:41 PM

Can you have one diagonal line plus one vertical or horizontal for the 2 bingo 30% rule?

I'd say that's straying too far, Tanyia. I hope you can some other way to tackle that challenge prompt :)

I just wanted to add that you could also interpret this prompt as "The Big Game" [as my Dad always called them] nights/days that involve sports. Like if you and your family enjoy attending sporting events together or watching them together on TV. Did you and your family watch the Winter Olympics? I hope that helps.
