Maybe it's just a big rock I live under, but this weekend I downloaded TapTalk on my phone - Oh my! I love it - so easy to stay on top of the forum, browse new layouts in the gallery and read private messages!

Tell me I'm not the last person to know it existed!

Guess I'm still under the rock! LOL! I haven't used that app.

I knew it existed, but I struggle to use it or even understand it

I mean I see the site, but it doesn't show me any activity! I'd much rather just go to the browser and use google to get to the site.

Is there a secret to using it? Or is really only useful if you check in one more than one site?

I struggle with it as well..... Basically I use it to stay on top of notifications (for when I get private messages) so I know to hop on my computer to take a look.

I've been using it for a couple of yrs now. When at home I like that it alerts me to new discussions, my phone is on my desk when I'm working so I hear the ding and see the notification come up so I then go to the forum on my computer to read and respond to. When on the road I can quickly check anything new going on from my phone.

It's great for checking the forums from a phone! Web browser works well on my computer, but the formatting is much better with Tapatalk on my phone.

They have updated it since I tried it over a year ago. This seems more user friendly. Like I can actually see posts instead of having the boards laid out like on my computer.

Have it on my phone and love it! It helps me feels a little connected when I can't be at the computer. I love how if I bookmark a thread, a notification will pop up letting me know a new response happened in that thread.

I might need to check it out again, I had it in the past and never really cared for it.

Taptalk is SO much better than trying to read the forum on a browser on my phone! I'm glad you found it and like it, Jill!!

I've tried it in the past for a different forum (not scrap related) and I was constantly running into errors. It drove me nuts, so I stopped using it. It's probably improved since then, maybe I should give it another try!

I had the app on my previous phone, but I didn't like it that much. So I didn't install it on my new phone.

I see the option to download pop up on my phone, but I always was afraid of the learning curve to being able to use it efficiently. I live the minivan chauffeur life right now, so I would love to be able to check in on the forum when I'm out and about.

I did not know you can book mark a thread! How do I do that???


I just downloaded Tapatalk last night... only got to spend a few minutes on it.

I called it bookmark, but it is to subscribe to a thread. When in the thread you want notifications for, at the top of the screen there is a pennet with a checkmark. Click on that and it will subscribe you to the thread. To unsubscribe, just click on it again.

You know you can actually get an email notification when you have a PM? just a matter of settings

I did not know that, but I try not to flood my email with too much since it's already pretty crazy, but that is great to know in case I find myself needing to get rid of some apps to make some space that I can set that up. Thanks! :)

Email notifications are very helpful. I check the forums often, but kind of like FB, those notifications can be helpful!

I like to read to catch up on the forum. I like that if I've read 10 messages in a thread the next time I go to that thread it starts at message 11. It kind of keeps my place. I've responded on it, but don't know how to post images and such, so I just read. If I need to actually post a layout I wait til I can get to my computer!

One thing I DON'T like about tapatalk is that you can't see siggies. I don't always know everyone by their forum name and I hate that the app doesn't show me the siggies. I ask a lot of an app!

Will TapTalk allow me to leave comments in the gallery from my phone?
Or is it just me who can’t do that? I can post comments in the forum from my phone. (iPhone)

I don’t think Tapatalk can let you to leave comments on the gallery.
