Qotd: DSD is almost here. How you do usually spend DSD? (10/04)

Just a few more days and DSD (Digital Scrapbook Day) is here.
How do you usually spend DSD? Is it any different from how you've planning to spend it this time?

I always take a few days of from work, just to be able to scrap. I love to play some challenges and enjoy a good sale. I'm filling up my wishlist already.
It's my birthday on Friday and I'm spending it with some friends. But I hope to be able to scrap and enjoy DSD on Saturday.

Woohoo, I think you can treat yourself with some sweet gifts for your birthday, Sarah :) :) :) I hope you'll have a great time with your friends!

I usually spend DSD the same way as you -- do some shopping (who doesn't love bargains?) and do some challenges, if I have the time.
This year I might not be able to scrap as I'm due in 2 weeks and we've been trying our best to prepare our house for the little one but with my husband going to work, we only have the weekends free and it's kind of difficult to organise everything the way we want it :)
Anyway, I love some games and challenges and hope I'll be able to take part in some of them. Can't wait to see what the SSD team has prepared :)

I'm always out of town this weekend. LOL! I spend my week scrapping as much as I can so that I can help the designers out and then I spend my weekend in Reno, NV with a bunch of friends for the Italian Festival. Their are a ton of booths set up outside on the main streets by the casinos full of Italian foods and desserts, drinks and crafty things.

LeeAndra 10-04-2017 09:35 AM

Recuperating. :)

Honestly the last thing I want to do is scrap (or shop) on DSD when I've spent the week prior scrapping like a mad woman. I did create a fun challenge for Saturday that I can't say any more about but y'all will see it (and some other things) pop up throughout the weekend.

This particular weekend, we're signing up for a membership with the YMCA and my husband is going to take my daughter swimming there + we have my mom's church's fall event Sunday afternoon.

MamaBee 10-04-2017 09:40 AM

probably cleaning house... haha

Like Carrie and LA - scrapping like crazy, helping the designers... so I'm ignoring the house, cooking, the kid... (he can make pancakes - he is fine - just kidding).

You must be so excited Anelia... your little baby is almost here! <3

Oh LeeAndra, sounds like fun. I'll keep my eyes open on Saturday.

Happy early birthday, Sarah! This will be the first time in eight years that we won't have soccer. I'm a little sad, but I get to help my daughter get ready for the homecoming dance that night, so that'll be fun (maybe lol). I might even get to scrap that day!

I'm finally getting back in the groove of scrapping, It's going to be a busy week-end though; hubby's birthday, is saturday, and with Thanksgiving on Monday there is lots to do to prepare, but I am setting some scrappy time aside for myself, just hoping I can make good use of it!! :D

jaye 10-04-2017 01:47 PM

It's Thanksgiving weekend for us with family dinner on Sunday. I have to pick my son up from college (3 hours away) and then take him back on Monday, so I will have time for shopping but not much else in terms of challenges etc.

Saar 10-04-2017 01:51 PM

To everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving this weekend... enjoy the time with your families.

I usually try to shop Friday night then scrap a few layouts on Saturday. I was able to keep Saturday mostly free of family commitments this year, so we're planning on a lazy day at home and I'll get to scrap. : )

I don't know yet, I probably goes to do shopping on saturday as I have somes outfits that I had order who must waiting me. lol.
Then I hope I could start shopping friday evening or saturday evening and maybe scrap a little after but as I can only scrap on the evening, I can't do what I want!:p
At least I hope I can participate to somes games.
And for sure I'll admire the beautifuls layouts in the gallery!:)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrate this great celebration!:)

And in case I miss time Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!! As Anelia said you can treat yourself!:D

Happy birthday, Sarah! My birthday is the weekend after DSD, so I am still planning to Buy All the Things and call it my birthday present. I don't know if I'll have a ton of time to scrap this weekend, as this time of year is really busy with family things and fall festivals and homecoming and all. But I usually get up very early to scrap, so I should have a little bit of time. I loved the bingo challenge last year, where we could do our card early. I'm hoping for something like that again.

Saar 10-05-2017 03:25 AM

Thank you all for the early birthday wishes.

Oh and happy birthday to you too Allyson.

It always falls on the weekend that I have to work a double shift. I wish it wasn't the first weekend of the month, just once.

KingsQueen82 10-06-2017 01:09 PM

A little shopping, a little scrapping, a little game playing and A LOT of cleaning and sleeping in! :D

Neverland Scraps 10-06-2017 01:41 PM

I try to make sure I don't have anything planned. However DSD lands on on the first Saturday of the month, so for me it automatically involves taking the kiddos to Home Depot for their KidShop. After that I usually run errands, but DSD weekend, I try to hold off on another. This year, we have family coming in town taking away from my DSD celebrations so we'll see how this year works. In previous years I just cut back on my errandunning.

This is my FIRST DSD after recently converting my hobby from 20 years traditional scrapbooking to all digital. I can't wait!!! Will there be a forum for us to follow just for DSD?

wimpychompers 10-06-2017 07:08 PM

I spend too much money and then wonder how I did that. ;)

I honestly usually get some goodies, get some scrapping done, and hang out as much as I can.

anelia 10-07-2017 02:01 AM

Happy (belated) birthday, Sarah! Hope you had fun with your friends and are enjoying the DSD weekend :) :) :)

aurian 10-07-2017 07:14 AM

I like to participate in as many forum challenges/threads as I get time for (which are easier to commit to these past couple of years with 4 young kids in the house; I'm either on borrowed time while the baby and toddlers are napping, or falling asleep at my laptop after the kids are all in bed!).

But I scrap when I can (slower scraps, rather than speed ones), shop from my wishlist and generally just ask my hubby if I can have a sleep-in on the Sunday morning (which is your Saturday evening in our timezone) for a couple of hours to chill out and participate more!
