"We're going to Disneyland" present

I am so excited - I have never been to Disneyland, and we just booked a trip for late January, as our family Christmas present. We almost booked this a week before Covid hit, thankfully we didn't!

I want to wrap up something under the tree to tell our girls what their present is, I have a couple ideas but you guys are so creative I thought I'd ask here too (we aren't telling family or anyone in case they let it slip before Christmas).

So far I have:
Mickey ears
Mickey bag
Custom T-shirt (made on VistaPrint) for each of us, to wear on the trip

What else could I put in there?

Have a wonderful time! I want to go--we've been to Disney World, but never Disneyland.

Before our first trip when they really didn't know what to expect, my kids loved looking through the Birnbaum's Disney World guidebook for kids (one written by kids for kids with descriptions and photos of the rides, etc.). I don't know if they do a Disneyland version, but if not I'm sure someone else does. I've also seen some fun countdown calendars and autograph books.

Have so much fun! I don't have any ideas for you, but be sure and let us know what you do and how your kids react.

Yes, get a guidebook & the Disneyland app so the kids can tell you what's most interesting to them. Also, get some water bottles. We filled ours all day long there. We were just there in June if you have any questions. We loved it so much and hope to go back again. So much more manageable than Disneyworld.

I always have the hardest time giftwrapping experiences (and I can totally relate - this year, kiddo is getting Louis Tomlinson tickets and I cannot figure out what to wrap them up in!).

The mouse ears are such a cute choice. How about something specifically travel-related? Luggage tags if you're flying, a travel map or travel games if you're driving and they need to pass the time or one of those cute little travel snack kits that people on tiktok and pinterest have made, that you can fill with goodies closer to the trip?

How about making an autograph book? Studio Flergs has some great kits (including the cards) that make a terrific book.

Fun!

Mickey Snacks
Glow in dark toys to take in the park so you don't spend $$$ in the park
Disney Gift Card for spending in the park

How exciting, Trina! Woohoo for you guys!

That's awesome!! Memories of a lifetime will be made, I'm sure ... and of course ... you'll have TONS to scrap about when you're back home!!

I 2nd or 3rd the autograph books. I also got a marker that could clip to the books so we didn't lose it.

Also- I can't remember how old your kiddos are- but costume princess dresses (or nightgowns- my daughter wore an Elsa nightgown with leggings underneath.) Costumes IN the park are atrociously expensive!

Have SO much fun! I love Disneyland & California Adventure!

Lanyard and some pins for trading.

My kids love those.

I second a gc for spending money. You can get Disney GC at Target for 5% off i you have the red card. We buy several hundred dollars to cut back on meal spending too.
My son is 18 and still talks about when "Mickey" delivered goodies to our hotel room. While we were out I snuck back and put out a shirt (I bought stuff at Disney outlet but now any where has fun Disney shirts), a door hanger that said merry Christmas, PJs (buzz lightyear was big in 2009), stickers, activity book. He was 5 and still talks about it. LOL

we were longtime AP holders before COVID hit. (now my kids are at an age where they are content to go only once a year. :crying: ) something my kids really enjoyed was a "hidden mickeys" book that was sort of a scavenger hunt with clues to find the hidden mickeys all over the park.

So fun!!!!

We just got back from Disney World!!!

Water bottles, clips to clip the water bottles to bags, hats, gift cards, PJs, and if kids don't have phones- disposable cameras for their own memory capturing.

Have a magical time!!!

How exciting!! I have been to Disney World, but never Disneyland.

What about a packed suitcase? Their passports in a stocking, a toy airplane, American money.

How exciting! We lived near Disneyland and were annual passholders for many, many years. You're going to love it!
How did the "reveal" go?!
