Need some prayers please
 

I know I don't hang out here much anymore, I lurk and scrap ;) But I need as many prayers as I can get right now.

I don't know how many of you know this, or know the full scope of this. But my father is nearing the end of his 12+ year battle with cancer. And not in a good way to end it.

I recently just got back from a trip to Washington to see him, and I have been heartbroken and scatter-brained and not super social since.

Anyway. He has a tumor in his liver. And the decision has been made after so many years of chemo, radiation, surgeries...that now he will just treat the pain and not the cancer. He tries so hard to do what he always did before, and he is just such a naturally positive person. But as of a couple days ago he has progressed to liver failure and was admitted into the hospital today for something with his kidneys, I don't have all the info yet.

Hospice has been set up, and is in his home now, and thanks to the awesome meds available he is totally pain free, and will be for the remainder of his time here on earth.

The prayers I am asking for are peace, and NO pain. I am currently trying to come to my own peace with his decision, and to process it all. And selfishly I am praying he makes it to the end of my kids school year, so I can go to Washington this summer and spend the rest of his time by his side. But I really don't think that is going to happen...

Amy, I'm so so sorry. I'm praying for peace and comfort and no pain. This is such a hard time. I've been there. I know. Not in exactly the same way, but I know and my heart hurts for you.

I'm praying for him, we went through something similar with my MIL and peace is the best prayer! I'm sorry you are having to go through it!

Thanks you guys. He just got out of his procedure now. Sheri do you know where Virginia Mason is? That's where he is now, he will be home with hospice tomorrow.
