oh yes a fan, how did I forget about that!

You'll have to let me know which white noise machine you got, and if you like it. My fan is dying.

iScrap 02-16-2022 01:52 PM

1. definitely a fan (menopause is no joke!)
2. cell phone
3. reading glasses

mirjam 02-16-2022 01:54 PM

Oh this is fun!!!

1. iPad (I love to read the newspaper in bed in the morning and Netflix at night when I can't sleep)
2. hand cream ( i think this works best during the night, plus this is the only way I don't forget to use it)
3. bed mist (I love to spray a bit of this very light scent for the bedroom before we go to sleep because I love to meditate before I doze off and a nice scent helps me to focus on the fragrance and my breathing instead of what's on the agenda for the following day)

I got this one (which I see Lea mentioned she also has!) a couple weeks ago. So far I'm really happy with it! I'm a really light sleeper and I can find a pattern in anything to focus on and drive me insane all night long. I really had no hopes for this one but I'm pleasantly surprised! I just ordered a little carrying case for it too and I am delighted I can now travel with it instead of bringing a box fan along or buying one and leaving it behind! I've left a trail of box fans across the country every time I PCS (military move) or travel. Lol...

1. I always have my phone because that's my alarm clock and I listen to music until I fall asleep every night.
2. My airpods because I listen to music with them.
3. My iPad because it's my sound machine.

bienejen 02-16-2022 05:02 PM

My 3:
iphone
Google mini (that's my white noise player and alarm clock and answerer of random questions at all times)
fan (because there's no such thing as too much white noise and they're on opposite sides of the bed)

Kimberly27 02-16-2022 05:34 PM

1. phone (only clock in the room)
2. reading glasses
3. pad of paper/pen (I think of random things and if I don't write it down I will forget...gotta love ADHD!)

We have a big box fan on a chair...I just got a new one as my other died on me. This one is so loud...love it! When we travel I use an app on my phone. It is nice bc hubby gets up sometimes an hour or so before me and it drowns out his noise. He is a runner...so not me. I choose sleep. :)

AmieN1 02-16-2022 06:11 PM

1. Phone (alarm clock)
2. Hand cream (right now it's a crazy anti-itch cream for my stupid hives that are STILL flaring up...)
3. chapstick & water are tied (my mouth gets SO dry lately since I'm on so many stupid antihistamines...)

aussiegirl 02-16-2022 07:01 PM

Flashlight
Water bottle
alarm clock (real one, I hate phones in the bedroom- my husband works odd hours and gets texts or calls at odd times totally annoying me)

CarolynK 02-16-2022 07:11 PM

1. iPhone
2. Water
3. TV Remote

Lidia G 02-16-2022 08:24 PM

reading glasses
night guard

lorigaud 02-16-2022 09:28 PM

Cell phone
Glasses
Chapstick (Burt's Bees is my favorite)

tjscraps 02-16-2022 10:58 PM

Phone - on charger
Book
Hand lotion

rach3975 02-16-2022 11:00 PM

If I'm in bed, I'm probably asleep. (DH goes to bed before me, and if I try to read or anything else when I come up it disturbs him.)

1. Phone (aka clock and alarm)
2. My glasses (because they're the last thing I take off every night and the first thing I put on every morning--I can't see anything without them)
3. Hmm...clutter on my nightstand is probably the most true 3rd thing!

I've got hives right now too... totally annoying. I think it's a cross between stress and winter, dry skin. I get hives multiple times every winter and it drives me crazy!:(:mad:

I should really put some paper and a pen near my bed because my mind is always going over things and keeping me awake. If I wrote them down, maybe I could go to sleep.

oh the flashlight! I do have a big heavy one right next to my bed on the floor for if the power goes out or there's an earthquake or something. It's big and heavy so if an intruder came in, I guess I could use it to knock em out!

knittingbec 02-17-2022 12:28 AM

2. watch
3. kindle (but usually I fall asleep with this in my bed ;) we joke that it's my "lovey", haha)

I had to chuckle at the mountain of clothes one...:D I was too tired to finish folding up the basket of towels the other day so I just moved it off the bed onto the floor until the next morning when I could face it head on.

Stefanie 02-17-2022 10:52 AM

1. Phone - it charges next to the bed
2. tissues
3. fan - hubby snores

immaculeah 02-17-2022 11:09 AM

1. Kleenex
2. Laneige lip sleeping mask (highly recommended!!!)
3. bottled water

Karen_ 02-17-2022 11:33 AM

My nightstand is piled with WAY more than 3 things. Ha ha ha! I guess I'm high maintenance... but my top three are:

1. Kindle - can't sleep without reading
2. Glasses - can't read without glasses
3. Water

I also have to have a fan. I have a pretty good app on my phone for white noise when I travel. It's so funny when I go to someone else's house and say... um, I can't sleep, it's too quiet. Ha ha! I also have hand cream and chapstick and kleenex at the ready too.

EllenT 02-17-2022 03:47 PM

1. sound machine
2. glass of water
3. my glasses

Dalis 02-17-2022 04:36 PM

btw. I almost said

1. hubby
2. Annie
3. Cici

Annie and Cici are our dogs.

carrie1977 02-17-2022 05:13 PM

1. iPhone
2. Water Bottle
3. My recently prescribed Synthroid so that I can take it early and go back to sleep for a bit. I don't want to have to wait to have my coffee. lol

mcurtt 02-17-2022 06:28 PM

My glasses (can't see a thing without them)
A glass of water
My tablet

Ponytails 02-17-2022 06:39 PM

1. iPhone and charger
2. glass of water
3. Chapstick

I don't need much because I'm one of those people who falls asleep within a minute or two of laying down to sleep. And I sleep for a solid six hours (almost to the minute) and then *boing* wide awake. It's great to fall sleep easily, but I can't sleep in at all anymore, which would be nice on those days when I don't have to get up.

So many people with white noise apps, I never even thought to look for an app. Which one do you use?

You sound like my hubby. He's asleep almost before his head hits the pillow and he can't sleep in either.

Hey Karen. Substitute kindle for tablet and we are definitely kindred spirits.
