PrintingOLD scrapbook pages

Hi there...long time NO posting here!
I am getting ready to move again (so that will be our 12th in our 20 years of military life) and I want to "lighten" our load. So I started working on uploading scans of my old paper scrapbooks that are 8.5x11 to shutterfly since that is who I've done digital ones with. BUT now I realize they do not offer that size at all. Horizontal doesn't work for the way I made the pages.

So if any of you do scrap in regular paper size...who do you print books through. I have the individual pages in 3 ring binders but that is really heavy and bulky and we are close to being over our max weight!!

And i really hope I can get back here and post more...life just got busy as it always does with kids!

The Photobook Girl has a huge listing of places that do 8.5x11 photo books - might be a good place to start: http://www.photobookgirl.com/8.5x11-photobooks/

I've only printed a few 8.5x11 pages but only as prints.

Wow 12 moves in 20 years! I thought we were had some crazy numbers these past few years. My son has moved 3 times before he turned 3 this year! Hopefully we are done for a few more years--don't you say that at every duty station?! Although I know what's going to happen, a few months from now my older girls will get the bug to downsize, preparing to move once again! It's never-ending, the moving! :D

I wish I knew where to print. I'm struggling myself to find somewhere to print a bound 100-page book. I hope someone here is able to help you! There are a lot of knowledgeable ladies here! Good luck with your upcoming move and good luck lightening your load!

Mixbook can print in letter size! I've never used them, but I know they offer it. You just click "photobooks" and then the blue "start a blank book" button at the right side to upload your own! Good luck!

Just curious -- will you throw out the old paper scrapbooks? I'm intrigued.

I've used mixbooks for my thick vacation albums... I've been pleased with their service. :)

Good luck with the move!

Wow, I thought my twelve moves in 21 years with the military was a lot but maybe it is more average than I thought. I've been wanting to do the same thing and I'm interested in how you are scanning bulkier pages and handling that?

Good luck in the move! Where are you off to?

Mixbooks produces a REALLY NICE book, especially for the price. I've used them twice and like them better than Shutterfly.

I LOVE Presto photo. They used to be called VioVio. They have really great prices.

Yes I will...gasp! But really the memories are the main thing. And its not worth the $$ if we go overweight or the storage because I have a TON of scrapbooks at this point with my boys 12 and 10!!! I've just come to terms with tearing them up and being done with the paper ones. As long as I have digital copies saved in 5 places!!! And a physical copy in my hands!

Thank you, that is good to hear! I'm not IN LOVE with Shutterfly but it was what I had uploaded the images to out of habit. So good to hear the alternative is better quality. Thanks!

Thank you Lynette! That is a good resource to know about!

Yeah...there is a couple of pages that have some "interactive" stuff on them. I may just keep the scanned flat part in the book and maybe keep the "inserts" in a keepsake box to deal with later...LOL. I just scanned them using our Canon Scanner.

I wanted to post an update...I got my Mixbook photobook in, and it's good. The colors seem right on and i don't see any obvious pixelation of the images. They are OLD film photos so it is kinda hard to judge but I'm happy enough to be ordering the second scanned scrapbook with them!
