Here is a list of this month's challenge prompts for easy reference:

#1. One Little Word : Jubilant
You can use this word as/in your title work, within your journaling, or simply let it inspire the direction of your layout.

#2. Product : Birthday Anniversary Freebies
Collect the Birthday Forum Freebies this month and then use your favorites to scrap your page.

#3. Featured : Meagan + Flergs
A brand new series of Featured Designer freebies is here for 2021, and we can’t wait for these fun kits to inspire you! Thanks to a suggestion from community member, Lisa aka Armygrl, our theme this year is focused on all of those special days that make up our sweet memories. From Rainy Days to Ordinary Days, A Day at the Zoo or even a Kinda Nice Day like Erica’s first kit in the series, we can’t wait for you to get your hands on these beauties! Taking inspiration from these fun kits, each month we’ll be asking you to scrap a page focused on the kind of day our designers are celebrating in their featured designer freebies! You’re welcome to use the kit itself, or simply scrap a page inspired by the title, but get creative and let your imagination take the lead.

#5. Dealers Choice : Tied Together Storytelling
Use this terrific page from SugarBabe Kim to help inspire you to create a layout where all the elements on the page work together to tell the story. I LOVE how Kim's overall theme is repeated in the text border, titlework, journal card, word strips, larger keywords, & how those small pops of color and expressions of paint beautifully tie together to complete the pouty and disgruntled narrative for her photos. The angst illustrated on the page is such the perfect compliment!

#6. Leaving Love :
Leave love on 15 layouts in the gallery and then post the link to each in your tracker thread.
Create your own place marker by using your favorite layout you've left love for during the month to "hold" that spot on your card ♥
Right click on a page in the gallery and save... follow by resizing this saved image to 97 X 97 before adding it to your Passport tracker image.

#7. Photography : Expressions
Focus on a variety of photographed expressions < joy, fear, laughter, sadness > then showcase them on your page.

#9. Seasonal : Bubble Gum Day
February 5th is Bubble Gum Day! Be it photos of your kids enjoying blowing the perfect bubble with a big wad of gum, or a perfectly bubblegum pink page, have some fun creating a page that celebrates this quirky holiday.

#10. Typography : Unicorn Confetti Font
Download font and use it on your layout.

How do you (or your kids) feel about growing up or getting older? Be it an interview or a simple reflection on your feelings, create a journal heavy page that explores this topic

#15. List : Checklist
Include a checklist on your next layout. Is it a to-do for a fabulous party? Or a grocery list for next week’s shopping? The sky is the limit, so get creative about what you’re checking off for this challenge!

#16. Pop Culture : Make a Wish
Making a wish & blowing out your birthday candles is a fantastic bit of popular culture that is practiced in nearly every country across the globe!
Create a page that celebrates this festive activity - Blow'em out & make a wish!

Have some fun filling your page with balloons!

#18. Scraplift : Hosted on the Blog
On the first Sunday of each month, Sugarbabe Kim E. will host an inspiring Scraplift Challenge on the SSD Blog.
You have the entire month to play along and complete your page.

To keep in mind while you're scrapping...
These prompts are written and created with fairly broad themes/concepts in mind and I think that personal interpretation is key. You can certainly approach a prompt literally, or I encourage you to think about it in a different way ... take a creative approach on ways to apply prompts so that they'll work for you and your family.

Hi, do we have to use Cindy's frame templates or can we use something similar?

You're not required to use those specific templates.

"Groovin' to" does it mean dancing?

I was just coming to ask if I can use one of the other similar templates from Cindy - I have the travel ones. I'm assuming those would be ok? It doesn't have to be a birthday themed page, does it?

Question about the featured designer - is it Meghan Mullens (the link takes me to her store) or Meagan's Creations (the way the name is spelled)?

I'm not sure that I understand #3 Featured. Do we click on the 2021 - A Day To Remember link in the shop to find the theme kit for each month? And if so, is the "A Nice Kind of Day" the kit to get inspiration from? Or is the "A Magical Day" one?

Also, where do we find the 2021 Designer Freebies? I see the Free Samples 2020 link but don't see a 2021 link. It has been a while since I have participated on this site and a lot has changed.

Also on #3 you have the names for Meaghan and Flergs. Are we supposed to choose a kit to use from their kits?

I'm not an expert and am happy to be corrected if I'm wrong but I believe these will be coming later in the month. Meagan and Flergs will be the next two featured designers and will release their new kits as 'free with purchase'.

Ok. Thanks so much. So the inspiration should be taken from those two kits then. Just have to wait for them to come out.

That's correct. We have to wait until their featured spot comes on and we can see what their theme will be then we create a layout inspired by their kit.

As for the freebies, you have to participate each day in the birthday thread and you can get a part of the collab.

When will Flergs feature designer kit be in shop? Is it this weekend or next? :) I am trying to do the passport twice...LOL

I don't know the answer to that...but, wow! Twice?! :eek: I thought I noticed you had posted two layouts for one prompt. lol Way to go! :w00t:

Kinda wondering about Studio Flergs kit as well. Didn't see it in the shop this weekend, so wondered about how to take inspiration or use her kit, if we don't know what it is!

Flergs' feature is scheduled to start on the 26th, ladies. :)

Hi there! Quick question... 5 SSD designers participated in the Digiscrap Parade this month. Are we allowed to use their freebies for our challenge layouts?

It is a little (or a lot? lol) confusing to me, too. But here's my understanding...

The current featured designer is Meagan. Her kit is "A Surprising Day." So, take inspiration from her kit and theme. If you have her kit you can use it if you want to. Otherwise, use a different kit but go with the "surprising day" theme. This weekend, Flergs will be the new featured designer. You could wait to see what her kit and theme are about and decide which one you want to go with.
