Scrap It! Summer - Weekend Getaway is coming soon! (FAQ)

Happy July Sweet Shoppers!

Normally Loni would be here to kick off this month's Passport Challenges, but instead, I'm here to give you the scoop on a very special event happening here at the sweetest spot in town this summer!

We're celebrating the hobby we love with our Scrap It! Summer event, and we have so much planned for you over the next 9 weeks! Not only do we have a massive storewide sale coming this weekend, we've also created 3 amazing team mega-collabs celebrating different scrapbooking styles, and you'll be able to grab those gorgeous collections from the shoppe as part of three Spend $20 weekends throughout July and August! The first kit Layer it Up! will be available this Saturday, and we can't wait for you to get your hands on this beauty. Here's a peek from SugarBabe Cassie that will give you a taste of this incredibly scrumptious treat...

That not all though, because we also have not one, but two, incredible, inspiring challenge events that will be replacing our Passport challenges in July and August!

The first of those events is our Scrap It! Summer - Weekend Getaway which will be setting off each Friday at Noon all month long...

I'll be posting the first 5 destination inspired challenges this Friday, July 2nd at Noon EST, and each Friday all month long, I'll post 5 more summer escapes for you to take part in!

Never fear, these fun and easy going challenges will give you the opportunity to earn your Sweet Rewards like you always do...

Complete 6 of 25 challenges to earn 20% Sweet Rewards
Complete 12 of 25 challenges to earn 30% Sweet Rewards
Complete 18 of 25 challenges to earn 40% Sweet Rewards

Sweet Rewards earned this month will be redeemable in the shoppe the week of August 9th, but you didn't think that was going to be it, did you?

This month, instead of giving away kits from our Featured Designers and a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner, each week we'll be hosting a drawing where everyone who completes all 5 challenges for the week, before the next set of challenges is posted the following Friday, will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to the shoppe too! That's $250 in prizes on the line this month, and best of all, you're welcome to play week by week without feeling like you're missing out on your chance to win if there's a week where you're too busy to scrap for whatever reason!

I'll post more details on Friday afternoon when I post our first set of Weekend Getaways, but I hope you guys are excited as we are to Scrap It!, no matter what "it" is, all summer long here at the sweetest spot in town!

Happy Summer Sweet Shoppers!

Robin and the team

I have a question. If I can't complete all 5 layouts one week can I still make those up during another week to complete more challenges for a higher sweet rewards coupon for next month?

I know I would not meet the requirements for the draws each week, but can't find anything about how that may affect the challenges.

Thanks

Yes! Any number of challenges you complete this month can earn you Sweet Rewards in August. Sweet Rewards are cumulative layouts scrapped and do not have to be scrapped on a weekly basis. Like you said, those layouts wouldnt be eligible for the weekly draw if it's completed after the deadline, but they do count towards SR totals!

bumblebeee 07-02-2021 08:24 PM

Thanks Robin

mywisecrafts 07-02-2021 08:48 PM

OMG, so this is amazing. My goal is to complete the 5 each week......fingers crossed!

3BluEyedBabi 07-02-2021 09:58 PM

Well, I just finished the 5 LOs for this week and that was sooo much fun! Love this idea with the postcards and the 'destinations' used for inspiration! So creative and fun!! Thanks so much for arranging this y'all!!

cherrygutz 07-03-2021 02:49 AM

This is sooo exciting!!!

armygrl 07-03-2021 07:36 AM

This is exciting! The prompts are fabulous and THANK YOU for the 40% off this weekend. Off to shop!!!

Thanks for the fun new challenges--I love these so far! I have 2 questions.

First, the directions line for Cinque Terre refers to "pastel beauties nested into the cliffs." For a lot of the other challenges there's one specific action item. For this one, can we choose whether to be inspired by the pastels or by the "nested into the cliffs" part?

Second, how should we handle it if we post a layout after a weekly deadline has passed? I don't want to make it hard for the Babes to keep track of who should be in the drawing, but the SR post seems to be set up so that we'd add our late layout to the same tracking post as our on-time layouts for that week.

Thanks, Robin!

aussiegirl 07-15-2021 11:07 AM

Question, I won't have a chance to scrap with this week's challenges (week #2) but I was inspired by one of them and have a page idea. If I scrap that layout but not until next week, will it still count as my total layouts finished this month, or no because it won't be posted until after this weeks deadline? I guess, simple question, can we still complete past layouts this month, will they count, and how do we post them? Thanks!

I wonder this too as we left for vacation on the 9th and don't get back home until late on the 17th so I pretty much missed all of this weeks challenges :( but I definitely want to be able to complete enough LO's (18-25) to get SR's :)

Quick question form a newbie...where do you post your layouts to qualify for the sweet rewards?

Do you mean in the forum or in the gallery?
In the forum you grab a spot in the weekly thread and update it with your layouts that you put in the gallery.
in the gallery make sure you upload your page to the 'Scrap It! Summer' part of the gallery (when you uploaded your page you can pick several galleries, like your own gallery, the designer's gallery and also the special event gallery).
Hope this answers your questions (and makes sense...).

Route66 07-22-2021 02:35 PM

Thank you, I figured it out and you beat me with your reply before I could delete my question. Thank you very much!!

BettyJoR 07-23-2021 02:43 PM

For the Scrap It Summer challenges is it OK to use a template from a past Collab kit? The template is not listed in the shoppe because it was part of the Collab kit but the designer is still selling here. Thanks so much for your help.

jacinda 07-23-2021 02:54 PM

Betty, yes it's fine to use the template.

Hey Rachel!

Sorry I missed your question before now. We're using the "last updated" date line when drawing winning numbers for our weekly prizes. Your post should be updated before noon with all 5 layouts by the deadline to be considered valid for the weekly prize.

Hope it helps!

Just to clarify I am reading everything correctly since I jumped in late. :) This is so fun btw. Our layouts for Sweet Rewards are due by Aug 06 at noon not Aug 01? It will make things so much easier if that is the case. I am trying to get caught up but moving slow
