Dating your pages

As in when you add your dates to your pages, not taking them out to dinner. :p

When you are dating your scrapbook pages do you add the year to them?

Jenn Barrette 01-14-2014 03:20 PM

I usually do month and date...when I remember.

NeverendingJen 01-14-2014 03:25 PM

yep. Usually monthdayyear, or at least monthyear if nothing else.

Lyd 01-14-2014 03:31 PM

Always. I do month, day, year unless I don't know the exact day or if the photos were taken on a series of days. Buy, I always always always do at least month and year.

jk703 01-14-2014 03:37 PM

Month and year... sometimes season and year. Most of the time no actual date.

Rubia Padilha 01-14-2014 03:40 PM

at least month and year... I like dating the photo. :)

Rubia Padilha 01-14-2014 03:40 PM

sometimes I add the "where" part. :)

jacinda 01-14-2014 03:41 PM

Day-month-year

rach3975 01-14-2014 03:43 PM

I'm kinda obsessive about making sure my pages are dated. Unless the day has significance, I use month year.

KristinCB 01-14-2014 03:48 PM

If i were to take my page out on a date could I have it's dessert?

MamaBee 01-14-2014 04:11 PM

yes... I don't scrap in order and who knows when I'll print the massive amount of pages, sitting here... so it's month/day/year... sometimes day/month/year... as long as it's somewhere - it's the last thing I do. I have become lazy, though... I used to be a huge date element person... now I just add it to a tag or the end of journaling.

Beebo 01-14-2014 04:18 PM

If I can remember the date the photo was taken, I use that date. If I can't remember, I put the date I made the scrap page. Usually it is month/day/year. Sometimes it is just month/year.

Darcy Baldwin 01-14-2014 04:20 PM

Yes, because I print and don't put in books immediately, so it helps me make sure they go in the right book later :)

Penny Springmann 01-14-2014 04:40 PM

Always...I have the worst memory! :)

adi&co. 01-14-2014 05:15 PM

yes. I didn't use to when marcus and jamesen were a baby and then i found myself finding it harder and harder to remember which year it was as jamesen got older and started putting years on so I didn't' have to keep delving into my EHD to get the year right every time i printed my pages

sczos911 01-14-2014 05:33 PM

month, day, year. Or month year.

SeattleSheri 01-14-2014 06:17 PM

Usually month and year. I don't add the actual day of the month unless there is some signifigance to it.

maryinaz 01-14-2014 06:20 PM

I'm still scrapping 20 year old pics, so I consider it good if I at least have the year on them. Some of the time you can tell what month it is from the pics. I occasionally will put the day also. It just all depends on how much info I have.

fifilur 01-14-2014 06:30 PM

I didn't use to, but now that I do PL free flowing I date everything. Year-month-day.

kristalund 01-14-2014 08:03 PM

I am going to start. i am also going to add the Kids' ages in my mini albums. I usually make these for vacations.

mariewilcox 01-14-2014 08:13 PM

Of course! Always! I look through the boxes of photos I have from generations past and I'm always so sad when there's no date. I always put the month/day/year unless it's a scan of a photo from before the days of my digital camera. I didn't always mark the day on those photos but always the month and year.

LeeAndra 01-14-2014 11:13 PM

Yes, I usually date them, and I am OCD enough that I will add an extra '0' for the first 9 months of the year so that they will be the same number of digits that the last 3 months of the year will be:

e.g. 01.01.14 = 6 digits, 10.01.14 = 6 digits.

:p

jak 01-14-2014 11:59 PM

Depends on the LO. If its for my annual family album I sometimes do specific dates but only day and month - I know its 2013 for example because its in that book. For my books for my boys which will cover a longer period (e.g. 5 years) I usually date it more generally, by month and year and/or an approx. age of my boys.

Tronesia 01-15-2014 12:09 AM

I always put the day, month and year. The first album I finished is just month and year, and as I added my pages it drove me crazy not to know the photo order for each month.

kristijoy 01-15-2014 01:09 AM

Same here. Month, Date, Year. I usually hide it a little bit though (typing it in the background) so it doesn't distract from the look & feel of the page.

yari 01-15-2014 01:29 AM

I most definitely add the entire date. Sometimes I have added the day of the week and even the time. I don't know, every little detail I know about the memory is soooo important to me.

Stacey42 01-15-2014 11:20 AM

I do month and year on most pages. It depends on the subject matter but I like knowing the 'when' and my memory is shot. :)

lorigaud 01-15-2014 11:51 AM

I usually just put month and year unless I specifically remember the date.

JuliaM 01-15-2014 01:56 PM

I make a point of putting a full date on all of my layouts. The only exception are photos that I scanned in from before I had a digital camera since I don't really know a date for those. For the digital photos, I save them in a folder that has the date they were taken as part of the name so, even if it's a few years later that I scrap photos, I can figure out the date they were taken very easily.

kscwgirl 01-16-2014 11:13 PM

month and year at minimum, date too if i know.

NellahBean 01-17-2014 04:06 PM

Absolutely! I put the full date on everything I make. I never know what book they are going to end up in. I have several that I'm working on. One for my daughter, my son, myself & my project life. It helps me to keep them in order when I'm putting the books together for printing.

staciahall 01-17-2014 10:44 PM

I try to at least put the month and year on them. Also, if the photos are obviously from years past, I'll write Journaled then the date so no one gets confused later.

Trista 01-17-2014 11:24 PM

month and year at the very least. Sometimes I am more specific. It just depends on my mood and space available on the page. :)
