QOTD DSD-holidays

how do you celebrate holidays? Do you go all out, celebrate everything or do you not celebrate at all?

We doh't go crazy with decorating for any holiday. I don't decorate for Halloween and for Christmas I just put up a tree and a few wreaths with minimal decorations elsewhere. Birthdays we have always kept low key.

I find I enjoy just being with family on these occasions rather than driving myself crazy for the perfect look. I do however envy those who are so creative and have beautiful holiday looks.

I go all out for Christmas, but everything else we keep pretty low key also. If I had my own home and own yard I would probably do some crazy haunted house/yard for Halloween though since it's my favorite holiday.

Being a military family and moving every couple of years with a maximum weight limit for our household goods prevents me from decorating as much as I'd like to decorate. If we didn't move and had storage, I'd decorate for every season.

However that's not the case. The only holiday I decorate for is Christmas, and generally up until last year, we barely did that!

I used to decorate and go all out for holidays when Jake was younger... now he is getting to the age where we are just so busy with stuff. So now the focus is on just trying to create traditions so we have those memories, more so than "my mom would decorate the house..." :)
