RQOTD - Let's talk purses....

I realized today that I can only wear my purse on my right shoulder. Any other way just feels....off/weird.

So, how do you wear your purse?

Right? Left? elbow? None (don't carry a purse)?

MamaBee 11-10-2016 06:05 PM

Right shoulder... or elbow if it doesn't have a strap... but if it's a tote or backpack, then on the left, weird. ;)

Right shoulder with some deliberate shifts to the left shoulder if I'll be carrying it a lot that day. I hate the bags with 2 sets of straps-I won't buy them because the little hand straps are just in the way.

I actually had to go get my purse to try it. I think I lean to the left but occasionally shift to the right (in purse and politics. :D)

lol don't klnow how to explain. but i always have the border on my left shoulder and the purse it self on my right hip. it is crossing my body.

Makes sense. :) I do that with my crossover purses, too. Bag part has to be on the right hip.

Yes! I dislike purses with those little hand straps. I never carry my purse that way. :D

wendyp 11-10-2016 06:37 PM

lol thats it, i only have 1 cross over purse!! lol why didn't i came up with that duh!

nietis 11-10-2016 07:07 PM

If it's a crossover, it will be on the left shoulder and my right hip. Otherwise, it goes to my right shoulder :)

MelindaH 11-10-2016 07:18 PM

I have a crossover purse, so it goes on my right with the bag on my hip. And otherwise hang it on my left shoulder. I'm sure it's because I'm a lefty. ☺ I bought a one shoulder camera bag from thirty-one a while back and it was completely useless to me because I had to carry it on the right, lol.

I can't stand carrying a purse on my shoulder... I like having my arms and hands free so my everyday bags are always cross body ones. When I carry a regular bag it's on my right shoulder.

jak 11-10-2016 10:22 PM

So here a purse is the the thing (like a wallet that holds your money) that goes inside your handbag... my handbag sits on my right side (I mostly have one with the crossover strap).

speechphi 11-10-2016 10:41 PM

purse on my left shoulder or on my right if it's a cross-over (which is what I usually use). bag part has to be on my left hip.

SeattleSheri 11-11-2016 12:26 AM

Typically I prefer my right shoulder, but I have right shoulder pain, so I've been wearing it on my left. The bag I use the most has large handle straps that can either be used as a handbag or over the shoulder. Most of the purses I use are too big to wear cross-body, though I do have some that I use when I know I'm going out.

farrijc 11-11-2016 01:26 AM

Interesting! I'm right handed but I always wear it on my left shoulder.

LeeAndra 11-11-2016 11:14 AM

My chest is too big for crossbody purses. It just makes everything stick out even MORE (as if that was possible!).

I always wear my purse on my right shoulder. I generally have a shopping cart or a stroller when I am out, though, so I don't carry it for too long.

My son insists on holding my right hand when we are going somewhere. It is annoying to have both my purse & my boy on one side (feels very lopsided) but neither of us is willing to give up our preference. :D

crystalbella77 11-11-2016 12:48 PM

purses are my jam!!! I LOVE purses hehe!

I prefer cross body or tote style. I like totes that are big enough for my planner and stuff and baby stuff!

chastml 11-11-2016 02:11 PM

I wear a cross-body on my left shoulder and my bag on my right hip. If it's my little tote or another bag, then on my right shoulder. They always fall off my left one when I try to wear them over there.

lovely1m 11-11-2016 06:49 PM

Always on the left side so my right, dominate arm is available. I carry my gun at work though left handed for some reason, even though I shoot right handed. (I know random to through in with purse talk..lol)

JennNtheBoys 11-12-2016 09:45 AM

I absolutely HATE carrying a purse and avoid it at all costs. There are times when I do need one though, and in that case I wear it on my left shoulder.... Like Mari, I like to leave my dominant arm/hand completely available. Same reasoning goes with a Guitar.... I'm right handed, but I play lefty.

Captivated Visions 11-12-2016 10:18 AM

I am the same as Christine and always carry my bag on my left shoulder or if it's across body on my right shoulder so it's on my left hip :)

breakingbrie 11-12-2016 10:50 AM

I currently use a wristlet, and I have a bigger purse I carry it in on long trips. (Not even sure I'd call it a purse, it's closer to a purse size canvas bag) I carry both with my right.

lliella 11-12-2016 11:29 AM

always on my left shoulder. i carry stuff with my right hand so i use my left hand to dig into my purse for car keys.

Sweeet 11-12-2016 03:43 PM

cross-over...right shoulder and bag on left hip. Always....

Kjersti 11-12-2016 04:03 PM

I'm the opposite of everyone! I love them on my arm!!!
