anyone holding a ct call soon?
Even if it's just for guests? I"d love to get on more CT's! (sorry if that sounds selfish of me!)
|
I'm also interested in guesting for designers.
I think Kristin holds a guest CT call every year around March/April. I believe Rubia (Studio Basic) also makes guest CT calls. There are designers I've never seen making a call though. |
haha I daresay they have enough babes to fill in all the CT spots they ever need, lol! But I can dream :)
|
I'll dream alongside....sigh
|
I dream every day. These designers are SO talented! <3
|
Talk about a dream job. Yeah, I am among the dreamers and wishers. I wanna be a Sugarbabe when I grow up! :-)

I’m returning to scrapbooking and just hoping to get some of my fabulous teams back.
|
I don't even dream, there are Babes with many years of experience.

Sometimes designers announce CT calls during the birthday celebration. Your best bet is to be active, scrapping, chatting, posting layouts, etc on a regular basis so when calls are available your gallery is full of recent work that shows your skills.
|
I'd love to know too!!! I'm a dreamer!!!!

I, too, would love to CT for a few more designers! |
I will not be having a CT call any time soon... BUT I wanted to offer some suggestions.
Often, designers who are looking to replace 1 or 2 team members will simply invite someone to their team, not have a huge call where they have to disappoint a bunch of people. It's not easy for anyone to go through that. My suggestion would be to remain active in the forums and when you post layouts in the gallery, add it to the designer's inspiration gallery also (listed by the name of the designer whose products you're using) so they will be sure to notice your pages. You want to be on their radar! :) I think Adi's comment about CT'ing being a nice way to try out that designer's offerings is understandable... I remember when I first got involved here being so 'hungry' for new kits but due to my budget I felt safer sticking to the designers I KNEW I would use their stuff (and use over & over!). It is nice to try out other designers without having to 'risk' spending on money on something you might not like... BUT. That's kind of what store collabs are for? And freebies. At least from my experience as a designer, if I'm out there looking for someone to ask to be on my CT, I usually look to people who already use my designs, are a regular to semiegular customer (because those often are the ladies that stay faithful and active on my team) and I *know* can rock what I make. Hope this helps!!! |
Thanks, Brook! That is definitely fantastic advice!
|
Thanks for the advice Brooke! I do like the freebies but they’re too small for me. I like a lot of element choices lol! I might just have to take a dive into some of the kits I’ve been eyeing and buy them and try them anyway lol

Ya'll...please don't ever feel like "you aren't good enough." Lots of us have been in your shoes wishing and hoping and dreaming of becoming a Babe and thinking we'd never be good enough. Yet, here we are on our dream team. It is always in the cards for anyone.
So, like Brookie said, stay active in the forums, keep your galleries current, try new techniques that make your layouts stand out. You just never know. A designer could see your work stand out and ask you personally to join their team! |

I used to be one of you dreamers, too. I got a 'no' several times on the Babe calls, it felt sucks, but I just kept on my real focus of why I scrapbook. Not because I wanted to be a Babe, but I enjoy it and I want to preserve our memories. When I focus myself that way, I also give myself a chance to improve my scrapping styles, shadowing, etc. :) So, I'd say, being a Babe (or a CT member) is a HUGE plus, but, please, don't forget the main reason why you scrap! |
I second what Brook said - collabs are the best to discover new designers. Discovering a new designer through CTing is also possible but, I guess, designers would like to see their stuff being used by the potential guest before they offer a spot...if you know what I mean.
|
I agree with what Brook says!
Collabs are perfect to discover new designers. And I can so relate to what everyone is saying. Not long ago I was hoping and dreaming as well. I didn't think I was ever going to be Babe. Don't ever give up hope. Becoming a Babe IS possible. |
Becoming a babe is a dream come true for Sarah and a few other girls and I'm so happy for them all :) I love it when dreams come true! So, I agree with what others said - never give up. Be consistent and you might just make it! :)
|
I miss CTing as well. I did a lot of when I was here before, not as a babe but individual teams, and I can say it is awesome and lots of work but definitely worth it :) I was however wondering, like you, if there would be any during the celebration month lol
|
I never dreamed of being a Babe, but I always dreamed of being a SSD Designer, so I totally get what you all are saying. It took me 4 years and a lot of hard work to get here, but, my goodness, it was so worth it.
As for a call, I am thinking about having one in the near future, but I need to get a little more SSD time under my belt first. Not sure any of you are interested in being on my team, but if you are, I hope to hear from you then. ;) |

Lorie, I'm sure you'll get LOTS of applications :)
|
It was a goal I set at the beginning of the year and worked at it (hard) til I was chosen. I still pinch myself!
Never quit your dream!! |
It took me 10 years and working for many different designers here at SSD on their CTs before I became a Babe.
If you want it badly enough and are willing to work for it and are willing to wait as long as it takes/never ever ever give up... it can happen. That applies to everything in life -- not just Babedom. |
