would you let your husband...

Well...I really need to dye my hair black again. My husband doesn't allow me to do that myself because we have a pretty new bathroom and our old one was, well....it did have some black hairdye stains (oops) and now I was wondering if I should ask him to at least put the dye in my hair. Would you let your husband do that ?!?! I will have to let him watch youtube videos first and explain how it works but I would like to be able to dye my hair because....it's not looking pretty. LOL I don't mind my hair getting longer but the grey roots showing is starting to bothering me :)

I wouldn’t ask my husband to dye my hair if I could. That’s a disaster waiting to happen and I really don’t want that. [emoji28]

hahahaha, that was my thought too ! LOL I'm afraid my entire face will be covered in the black dye...and eventhough we're only going out twice per week, it's not a risk I am willing to take !

LynnZant 04-02-2020 07:09 AM

Yes. I've had him cut it for me before. He's the one who has to look at it, so it's beneficial that he takes his time and does a good job. ha ha
Or, do you have an old sheet that you could put down on the floor? You could have him watch for any drips--he could be on wipe patrol.

roxana 04-02-2020 08:50 AM

Yes, just remind him he has to be extra careful or else you will end covered in black LOL In fact I have asked mine to do it for me, as we are in almost total lockdown here, but I haven't had the time to do it yet, I'm one of the few still working.

StacyLynn 04-02-2020 08:57 AM

One of my friends has her hubby help her do it quite often.

Mot sure if I would ask my hubby......

Sherri Tierney 04-02-2020 10:54 AM

Mine could do it. I honestly haven't found anything at this point that he isn't good at. While I haven't actually had him help me with hair (I don't really do anything to mine... when I do it is once a year or so, in the fall, I go a tad darker) he'd probably do a better job than I do.

MamaBee 04-02-2020 10:56 AM

Mine would help if I asked him... but he is a engineer - I'd probably end up with stripes or something that looks like a grid... haha

carrie1977 04-02-2020 10:57 AM

If I dyed my hair one color, I'd ask him to do it. He would, too.

JennNtheBoys 04-02-2020 11:25 AM

I've learned I'm horrible at dying my own hair.... I always got my husband to do it for me. With that said, it wouldn't hurt to ask....

stephc777 04-02-2020 12:20 PM

If you think he is a detail oriented guy, I would go for it. I know a lot of ladies who have their hubbies help them dye their hair.

Oooh, cutting my hair would go too far :) We do have old sheets so that is a good idea. I just asked him if he wanted to dye my hair and he told...no way !! hahaha Not sure why not but he said grey looks good on me :)

I really want my husband to dye my hair too but he just said he doesn't want to do it. I'll ask again tomorrow because I really want him to do it. If he is going to do it, I have to make sure to clean the edges right away otherwise it'll be black for a while.

I do trust my husband...but I just asked him and he looked at me like I asked him if he could shave my head !! LOL I might just have to ask again tomorrow or buy the dye and just do it myself.

I have a hairdresser who comes to my house every 5 weeks to cut & dye my hair but that isn't happening anytime soon now. I don't mind longer hair at all but I do want to stay on top of the roots situation. The grey/black is just too different to just let it grow out.

One color isn't too difficult...with highlights I would not ask my husband for sure. Not sure how that would end up but probably not good at all.

I should have asked him to dye my hair long ago. I just asked him and he said no and I'm not too happy about that. I'll ask again tomorrow and if he still says no, I'd love to know why. There's not much that can go wrong :)

Very detailed indeed so I know he would do a good job :) Now I just have to convince him to do it...sofar, he's not a fan of the idea. LOL

jaye 04-02-2020 01:23 PM

It’s just my son and I but I would ask him to do it for me if needed.

Good luck getting hubby to do it for you!

craftytam 04-02-2020 02:09 PM

I don't think I would have Hubs dye my hair. My mom was a hair dresser, so if I wanted to have it done, I'd probably have her help. I haven't dyed my hair in years. I embraced the gray :)

jacinda 04-02-2020 02:19 PM

My husband would just say no way, so I do my own and put old towels on the floor. Is it an option for you to do it outside in the garden if you're worried about drips?

BobbieSmith 04-02-2020 02:34 PM

My husband used to dye mine and our daughters hair. He did a great job and my daughter has so much hair we had to use 2 boxed dyes on her hair. I haven't dyed my hair in probably 4-5 years so I have TONS of grey. I'm just letting it happen because my skin/scalp just can't take the chemicals anymore.

Leablahblah 04-02-2020 07:53 PM

lol let us know what you decide! I wouldn't let my husband do it because my hair is so long and it wouldn't turn uniform. I don't dye it anyway but if I did, I would do it myself.

lovely1m 04-02-2020 09:01 PM

My husband would make a much bigger mess than I would. I will only allow a professional to dye my hair though.
