I Survived...!!!

I survived my first day as a parent to a teenage boy! LOL I know anyone who knows me, has me on facebook, or follows me on instagram is tired of me talking about it, (and I'm not done, there will be a Layout in the gallery later ;)) but yesterday was a big day for my son AND for me!

As parents we always tend to make a big deal of the milestones, first smile, first laugh, first tooth, first steps, first words, first day of school, etc etc etc This late in the 'game of life' they are far and few between, so I may be a little over excited :w00t: LOL On the flip side, I am riding this high of excitement for as long as I can because deep down I am terrified! These are the testing years that can 'make or break' our relationship....I think for the first time ever in my 'parenting career' I am scared. I keep thinking of the positives though... Xavier is a VERY good kid, he's always been beyond his years so I think he's more mature in how he handles situations that are thrown at him... he's very mellow like his Dad, caring like his Dad... he's not so much a Momma's Boy, but he's VERY protective of me, I think we'll make it through these years ok.... his little brothers on the other hand are much more like me than their Dad and that is something to worry about because I remember my teen years well .... I was not pleasant in those days to say the least! LOL

Well congratulations. I've been though the teenage girl years once already (it was not pleasant) but I've got another one coming up and a boy too.

BTW my son is Xzavier!

Good luck!!! I'm sure it won't be as bad as you imagine!

Oh that's so cool.

We pronounce it how your sons name looks, with a heavy Z sound.... he goes by Zay most of the time. :)

Cool!!! We pronounce ours with both the X and Z sounds!!!

same. I love it :)
Don't meet too many of them (which was the plan ;))

Exactly. I know many pronounce Xavier just with the Z Zayvier...and I knew I didn't want that at all, so I figured if I gave both letters they'd have no choice but to say X-Zayvier...LOL.

My first thought is always the Spanish version of Xavier with an H sound. :) We have a few Xanders at school (pronounced with the Z) but I haven't ran across a Xavier in quite a while.

Congrats on a milestone like this! My daughter will be a teenager in a few short months. I don't worry so much about her as I do my 9 year old son. He is already trying me in so many ways.

Congrats! Don't be too scared, one of mine has been a teen for a few years and it's been great.
