digitalizing old photos

Does anybody have any suggestions of how to digitalize several albums of old printed photos?

I don't think I want to do it myself but rather have them done some where.

I thought I remembered Costco or Sam's Club offering that service but I don't see it anywhere on their websites.

Anybody have a business they would recommend?

I have been working through old albums myself - so no advice on sending them anywhere. If you do decide to try doing them yourself - I have had good luck with my flatbed scanner I scan at 1200 dpi and have been able to get good quality to print up to 11x14 or 16x20 even from 4x6 photos. It's a slow process with that dpi but has been worth it to me to have the higher resolution.

Thanks for the tips. We do have a scanner but the process sounds slow and time consuming. If I can't find somewhere to send them to I may have to consider this.
