Mo Willems has been a favorite in our house over the years...my kids loved and still love his Pigeon Books...

The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn - This is an absolutely charming book about love and courage. It's a perfect read for any young child who is heading off for a first day of school or is facing a challenge. The story even gives kids some insight into the joy they bring the people they love.

I work in a library and we got this one in just the other day. It's hilarious and I can see having so much fun reading this to my grand-daughters!
