Here's a SUPER easy one... and it's SO yummy... just made it a few weeks ago...
2 cans Pillsburry Golden Layer Buttermilk Biscuits 1 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. whipping cream 1 tsp. cinnamon Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray fluted tube cake pan with cooking spray. Separate each can of buscuit dough into 10 biscuits; cut each into fourths. Layer pieces in pan. In small bowl mix remaining ingredients; pour over biscuits. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately turn upside down onto plate. Let pan remain over cake 5 minutes. Serve warm. Hope you enjoy it! |

|
Thanks ladies! These sound great. I can't wait to try them.
|
I'll try to find my "Cooking Light" recipe tonight and post. It's totally delish and not as guilty....

Mmmm Monkey Bread is my holiday favorite!
I use the Bridgeford frozen bread loafs. Cut it in half lengthwise, then cut it into small chunks. Dip each chunk into melted butter and layer in a bundt pan. Let rise for a few hours and bake at 350 till golden brown. There are so many variations you can do with this recipe. I make a mix of grated parmesan cheese and different spices (basil, garlic, oregano) and roll the bread pieces in that after the butter. Or for a delish breakfast, roll the pieces in a cinnamon/sugar mixture. |
OMG, you guys are making me crave Monkey Bread now and it's 10:30 at night!
|
Oh oh oh!! I'm posting one on my blog tomorrow morning!!! The recipe I found actually calls it Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread, but it's just like the "Monkey Bread" I grew up with. Anyway, I'm taking it for Bible Study in the morning, so be sure to check out my blog in the a.m.!!! :)

Oh, and just to be sure...there won't be any "skin" on the monkey pudding bread recipe, will there? :p |
If there is, then you didn't properly use oven mitts, Jenn.

Here's the Cooking Light recipe for Monkey Bread:

Combine 1 cup sugar, brown sugar, milk, margarine, and 1 ¼ tsp cinnamon in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute. Remove sugar syrup from heat and let cool 10 minutes. Combine ¼ cup sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon in a shallow dish and stir well. Cut each loaf into 24 equal portions. Roll each portion in dry sugar mixture. Layer the balls of dough in a 12-cup Bundt pan coated with cooking spray. Pour sugar syrup over the dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 F), free from drafts, for 35 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Preheat oven to 350 F. Uncover and bake at 350 F for 25 minutes, until lightly browned. Here is one that I use. It's very easy.
MONKEY BUNS INGREDIENTS: Butter Cinnamon 2 cans of biscuits Brown sugar Nuts chopped (any kind) Use a muffin pan. Heat oven at 350. DIRECTIONS: In each muffin cup, put 1 – 2 tsp. of butter, 1 heaping tsp. of brown Sugar and nuts. Lightly dust with cinnamon. Put muffin pan in Oven to melt mixture. Cut biscuits in half. Put biscuits in a bag of cinnamon and sugar mixture and shake well. After mixture (in oven) has melted, put 3 pieces of biscuits in each cup. Bake about 15 minutes. |
