What I do in my spare time...
 

I just wrapped up my third and final week taking part in a musical at a local community theater. I've done some plays over the last few years but this is my first musical. My son was also in it. Thought I'd share some pics. It was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- not sure who has seen or heard of that!

Our granddaughter who is 10 tried out for the Jr / Sr high play at her school (she's in 6th grade which is part of Jr high) - she got the part of Charley in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She was the youngest member of the play and did an amazing job - it's something no one knew she had the slightest interest in until she did it.

Oh, Meagan! This is awesome! I love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and am sure this was an amazing production! I love seeing the photos of you and your son! What a wonderful experience and such wonderful memories!

How fun is that!

My kids have done a couple of theater camps at our local performing arts center, but I haven't had the bandwidth to get involved myself. I was inducted into the internationa thespian society in high school, but mostly behind the scenes. Just another one of those things that's fallen by the wayside. Good for you taking the time to do something you love- and even better when you can involve your kids!!

So awesome! My oldest son performed in musicals throughout high school and has gotten back into doing them now that he graduated from college and has been working in his field of music therapy. They are so fun to watch, and I bet that despite the hard work you have to do as part of it, they are really fun to perform in as well!

That is so great! My son discovered his love for the theater in 9th grade and has been doing plays & musicals ever since. He is even working on his own musical (writing the story & the music).

My son used to be in lots of plays and he loves musicals so I have been taking him to them for years. I begged him to audition for a musical but he won't sing in front of people. :(
