Sophia has chicken pox :(

My poor baby girl woke up this morning covered in chicken pox. :( The DR. was out to see her and said to prepare ourselves because Luca will be next! I don't think I have had them either, so fingers crossed I don't get them! It is gonna be a LONG two weeks or more!

Brandy 03-18-2007 01:23 PM

oh no! **hugs** i hope it goes smoothly and not to much of a stress :(

Sue Setiadji 03-18-2007 01:53 PM

Oh you poor thing Eve - its going to be a tough fortnight for you all! I had my girls immunized so I think Ill get to avoid that one!

emilymerritt(skrpbkmom) 03-18-2007 02:13 PM

Oh no!! Good luck! Hope they're feeling better soon and I hope you don't get it!

lauren grier 03-18-2007 02:25 PM

MandaBean 03-18-2007 03:00 PM

That sucks!!! I hope You don't get them too. :(

Paula Duncan 03-18-2007 03:43 PM

That sucks!! Jordan got them twice so I feel your pain!! :(

angedawn 03-18-2007 04:09 PM

Eve, I got the Chicken Pox when I was maybe about 22 years old - so I can understand why you want to avoid them! Mine weren't too bad, but it's just not something you want to be dealing with as an adult!

csgebhart 03-18-2007 11:07 PM

Oh Eve! I didn't know you hadn't had them yourself. I never had them either, so when my DS got them (20 or more years ago) I was sure I would get them. But I didn't! I must have a natural immunity to them, so I hope that's true for you too!! But my poor DS had them twice - first case was very mild, so he got them a second time.

Good luck with the kiddos, Eve! Hope they feel better soon!

EveRecinella 03-19-2007 07:01 AM

Thanks ladies, she is starting to get covered from head to toe today, poor baby, she is a trooper though!

Zoe Pearn 03-19-2007 07:04 AM

Oh Eve! I hope they get better soon! I got the Chicken Pox for the first time at 19 - YUK!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you don't get them too

suzy 03-19-2007 08:50 AM

I got them when I was 19 as well and it was not fun!!! I hope you all make it through this without too much discomfort!!! I should book Abi in to get her Chicken Pox vaccine - it is the only one she hasnt had!!! Good luck!!

Amy H 03-19-2007 10:07 AM

Oh no, Eve!! Good luck! Kiddos are real good at handling them! My first one got them before there were immunizations, but all my others have been protected. Here's hoping you have a good immune system!

CharleneV 03-19-2007 10:59 AM

I'm sorry to hear she's going through it, especially since you haven't had it. But I'm hoping in a couple years that we find someone nearby who has it, so Jasmine can get it and be immune after that. Just not now, while we have a newborn in the house!! (we're not vaccinating her against this one...just letting nature take its course :D)

Yenny 03-19-2007 07:14 PM

Awww...Good luck with them,Eve! But kids can pretty handle with that thing easily..although its very itchy and all..DS got chicken pox last year but thankfully his pedia got him a vaccine that day so its not scattered as it should be..

Take care!

puck 03-19-2007 07:37 PM

Poor :( I hope they feel better soon, Eve

mcardall 03-23-2007 07:08 PM

the doctors are now saying that even with a vaccine, kids are still getting chicken pox, just not as bad. they are most likely going to start giving out a booster vaccination at about 7-10 years old. so.... even if your kids had been vaccinated, they could get it again. i just hope you don't get it! stock up on caladryl and benedryl gel.
