Got a reply from artscow...
and they are not going to fix my books. They said that it's my fault because I didn't pay attention to the bleed area. Whatever.

I know they're cheap and give away a ton of free stuff, but I found them so frustrating to deal with that I just can't be bothered.
I couldn't even get to the point of making a book, because their software didn't wouldn't work with my pre-Intel Mac. No matter how many times I asked questions about it and tried to find out if I was missing something, or if there was an alternative, they just kept replying with a link to the same software. They clearly never actually read what I wrote. When I asked a question about what time zone the freebies expiration was set to, I got a super snippy response. They re-added some free stuff to my account, which was nice of them, but I wasn't asking for that. I just wanted to know so I was prepared before the rest of my free stuff expired, and I asked the question very politely. Again, it was clear they never read what I actually wrote. I really think they should focus less on giving out ludicrous amounts of free stuff, and more on quality control, fine-tuning their online presence and customer service. They're obviously trying to take a huge chunk of the market simply by flooding the market with their freebies, but I could honestly care less how much free stuff they throw at me. I'll pay more and get decent service and a better quality product elsewhere. Oops, I ranted... yep, they pissed me off LOL. |
Wow I can't believe they would say its your fault :( I def won't be trying them out! I don't even have time for crappy customer service.

I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. All of these people posting about all of the cheap/free stuff they were getting (not just Artscow), and then the problems they were having, it's just not worth it to me. I'm a loyal customer, if I love a site, I tend to stick with it always, but it has to be good quality, and great CS for me.
I am so sorry they are being that way to you Sara. I'm saving my $$ until I can afford to get my LOs done at scrapbookpictures or mpix somewhere instead. It seems like it would be less of a headache in the long run. ((hugs)) |
Wow, that's horrible customer service. Unreal. So sorry that happened. :(
|
See.. that's my thing.. yah, the books were free, but I've NEVER had a problem with Shutterfly reprinting things..even when I didn't even pay for SHIPPING w/ SF.. they've reprinted stuff for me. Bah.
|
That sucks. I got mine too, with small white edges and I just decided for my first book, it's fine. My mom totally loves it so if I want to reprint those pages, I'll give her the 1st book. LOL

Blugg. Big fat boo for poor customer service.
|
Ugh. That stinks!
|
The book I got from them was just AWFUL.....they cut off almost everything on the edges even with a small border!!! I only paid a small amount of $$ for it and it is for my niece so I really did not care too much but I will NEVER use them again, that is for sure!!!!!
|
I didn't like my books, you can see the stitches in the binding and some of my pages had white edges, even though I made sure I had enough to make it bleed fully. They have so many good offers though, so if you don't mind your products not being perfect then it's okay I guess. I'll probably use some of the coupons depending on the deal.
