Jordan bought a new tv this week, and we're getting an exercise bike for Christmas, so we needed to do some big cleaning of the bedroom. He piled up a bunch of stuff from college that I've been meaning to go through for forever, and just kept putting off. Since the tv comes tomorrow, and the new tv stand comes monday, I couldn't put it off any longer.

I pulled a small wooden jewelry box with really pretty carvings on it that I always liked, out of a box. I didn't think there was much of anything it. I found a whole mess of jewelry that got shoved aside throughout college.

But then.
I found the obituary for my best friend. And the article about her car accident. :crying:

I miss her so much. She's been gone almost 7 years. She was only 18. She had just gotten herself together and was finally happy and excited about life (suffered from some pretty severe depression for a while in high school). She was excited about college again, excited about pursuing a new career. And then she was gone. And they never figured out why she lost control of her car.

Sorry, I just needed to get this out. It caught me totally off guard finding those articles. :crying:

Aww huge {{hugs}} Col! I too lost my best friend from junior high/high school to a car accident when we were just 21 so I know exactly what you're feeling. Her parents live not too far from us and whenever we drive by their house I get really sad thinking about her and how much I miss her.

Thanks for the hugs you guys. I'm scrapping some pics of me and Jaclyn from High School. Lil bit o' scrap therapy.

I just wasn't really prepared for those feelings to come rushing back to me like that. It was like I was transported back to my dorm room of freshman year, calling her parents house and finding out the truth. I spent the whole day crying, and then had to go take a physics exam. ::sigh:: I really miss her is all.

I'm sorry! :( One of my best friends lost her sister at the tender age of 18 in a vehicle accident. She was off to get a job in Montana or Colorado or something with her boyfriend for a thing to do after high school and was killed in a traffic accident on the way. It's never easy to remember tragedies like that. I'm sorry it caught you off guard!

I know some of how you feel - I lost a friend when we were 18 - she was with her boyfriend and he was driving drunk - both were killed. It was so sad, especially for her twin sister. Ever since then, I've been really a stickler about not letting people drive after drinking...

As if last night wasn't difficult enough for me. Tiger tested positive for Lymes Disease at the vets this morning. :(

The Lymes is treatable, it just sucks. She's totally fine and not showing any symptoms, so we don't have to start treatment right away if we don't want to. I'll probably start it next month. I have to find out how much it is even. I'd rather treat it now and hopefully get rid of it so we don't have to deal wtih it further down the road.
