Man...I'm ticked...

So, we went to Zak's basketball game last night, it was in a town about an hour away. I took off work 1/2 a day so that we could do a little shopping before the game...and I did...OLD NAVY, girls...some GREAT sales.
Anyway I digress...
After the game Zak wanted me to get him a new pair of sneakers, so we stopped in a Shoe Dept and he tried on about a million pairs of shoes and finally settled on a pair.
They only put one shoe in each box and then go and get the other one when you pay...well we got home and its TWO different shoes! Same style sorta, just a bit different, and way to different to wear...GAH!
What would you do?
I'm thinking of calling this morning and demand they send me the right one in the mail, QUICK mail...I should not have to waste my gas to go back down there before I actually have to, which probably won't be for another month, and Zak needs the shoes before then...
I'm about ready to be super mean Shannon once this store opens at 9AM.
Do you think asking them to do that is unreasonable?

LenaGardner 01-06-2009 07:27 AM

I don't think that's unreasonable at all!

However, they don't call me squeaky wheel Lena for nothing.

Tabatha claims that I'm always super super nice to any person I have to deal with....until they displease me :p

The words "put your supervisor on" come out of my mouth a lot when resolving issues.

Good luck! I'd me mad too!

I agree...I turn into really, really bad Aaron once you have made me angry. I would totally have them send you the shoe. Having to get the shoe at the checkout is a hassle to you, so for them to further the hassle - they must pay!!!LOL.

Sue Setiadji 01-06-2009 07:31 AM

Perfectly reasonable Shannon IMHO!
Try to pretend not to be super mean Shannon tho - Damsal in severe stress over mismatching shoes Shannon might be a more beneficial persona - Sympathy will probably get you a lot further quicker even though they may be the ones in the wrong.

Good Luck with it - must be so frustrating!!

wildblueeyez 01-06-2009 07:58 AM

Call me bad for saying this, but I doubt they will send you the "right shoe" - if they couldn't pick out the matching shoe with the one in the box in front of them, I'm thinking they'll have trouble picking out the right one over the phone LOL... You don't have a shoe dept store closer to you to exchange them? Hassle? yes esp. since you have to fix their wrong.

Nope...Closest one is an hour or even further away...I'm thinking that I need to speak with a manager...which is what I will do, before I ever even attempt to speak to a sales person.

Probably for the best!

You may end up with a certificate to pick up a pair of choice online since they are that far away :)

Ugh that stinks Shannon.. I hope they can resolve it for you.

ColleenSwerb 01-06-2009 09:21 AM

Definitely give them a call and see what sort of solution you can come up with :)

Lena, those are my FAVORITE words when dealing with CS people, lol. One time in college I went up about 5 levels of supervisors with Verizon. THAT was a fun phone call :p

What's that saying about honey? I can't remember it but I'd try the nice route first and then go the Mean Shannon route if it doesn't get you anywhere. Good luck Shannon, I'd be steamed and probably unable to take my own advice in that situation as I'm a hot head!

"you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar", Pam. :)

But I'm more of a vinegar gal myself. DH makes me play bad cop all the time when it comes to dealing with customer service stuff.

I think that's more than reasonable, it's not like the mistake was yours.

meems 01-06-2009 03:35 PM

not only should they send you the correct shoe, they should send you a postage paid mailer thing so that you can send back the other one.

joelsgirl 01-06-2009 03:50 PM

DId you get some resolution to your problem, Shannon?

Yes, I agree with that.

I would be surprised if they do send you the right one. Honestly, if they never agree to, I'd ask for a full refund plus shipping and ship both back and not go back! blah! good luck! how frustrating!

my3hens 01-06-2009 04:36 PM

I would def call and try the sympathy card and then the cranky card if that don't work LOL!! What a pita I am sorry you even have to deal with that!
