Holy Canoles!!
Okay went in for my reg baby check up to find out I am measuring a full month ahead, yeah I knew I was huge but DANG lol! So I get to go to the hospital on the 17th for a u/s to see how big this kid really is (or if I am just needing to lay off the burger king lol!) I have only gained 17 lbs which she said isnt to bad. I am 28 weeks as of Wednesday so we are getting up there. Not expecting that though. I go back and see her before the end of Feb which was quite surprising too. I though I was still on teh every 4 weeks plan for now. And yay for me I also get to drink the nasty syrup for the gd testing. Gonna be along month.

What baby # is this? I know with Mason I measured 2 weeks ahead right from the beginning, and I was bigger with Natalie but don't remember how I measured...

This would be numero quatro LOL Well 4 in case my spanish realy sucks as bad as I think it does lmao! Oddly enough I measured ahead with Noah too and he was 8 lbs 4 ozs so he wasnt a huge baby but I didnt start measuring ahead until I was 34 plus weeks. I cant believe this is starting this early. The only reason I question to much though is I never had an period before getting pregnant. I had nrused Noah right until we concieved and aunt flo never came on the entire i was nursing so I had nothing like that go on at all. I admit though I really am not rushing this baby at all. I absolutely am trying to enjoy it because it may very well be our last baby. Eh I just dont want to push out a ginormous kid cause I have my heart set on a natural birth LOL My kids heads tend to run ont he larger side as it is LOL!

Hopefully you will get good test results when you have your gestational diabetes test....Could be this baby is going to be bigger....Enjoy your pregnancy....:)

I measured way ahead like that with my second and third children. My youngest was six weeks premature and weighed 7 pounds/19 inches. My second child was a few days overdue (due 10-31-93 and he was born 11-09-93) and he weighed 11 pounds/24 inches. I started going into labor with him around 28 weeks and they kept telling me it was to early but then when he was born the doctor said it might have been smart to actually have taken him a few weeks early because he was so large.

Well, regardless you're lookin' gorgeous in that avie! :) As long as you and the baby are happy and healthy, that's all that really matters. But maybe you'll be seeing this little one sooner than you thought!
At my last appointment, I was measuring 2 weeks behind, but we're really certain on the date and that's probably pretty normal for a first. In the past two days though, she's been doing some serious acrobatics and I swear I've made up those 2 weeks plus some! LOL Best of luck with the glucose test- nasty stuff to drink!! Hope you pass the first go-around. :) |
Well the ultrasound will let you know for sure one way or the other.
My doctor had me terrified (at 21) that Mason was going to be a 10lb baby, and he wouldn't induce me until I was a week overdue. He was 9 days late (I was induced 3x) and he was only 8lbs 1.5oz, lol. The doctor was going by the size of my belly...I only had an ultrasound at 18 weeks and he was growing normally, but then I got REALLY big, lol. |
Aww well I am glad that theres so many with similar experiences, does make me feel quite a bit better. Im not really the panicky type and from what she said really the baby is healthy so it doesn't affect her either way, they just need to know. As for the gd I feel pretty good about that. I havent had any history in the past and feel pretty good besides being big. I am a little sore but thats mostly cause I live on teh third floor and haul three kids around all day lol! Who wouldnt be a bit jagged aroudn the edges 7 months preggers with 3 kids to chase right. Teresa I am glad all is going well for you too sweety! I def feel you about the activity in there. This kid was really lazy and I was thinking hmm maybe im gonna get me a mellow kid and then the past couple weeks its literally off and on all day lol!

Looking good Sarah!!! I can't believe how fast time is going. (from this end anyway) :)
I always measured bigger than my due date...even though I never gained more than 20-25lbs with each of my pregnancies. I think the more kids you have, the faster you show. Heck, just taking the pregnancy test with Sophia, I popped out the very next day. :p |
your belly is looking quite cute!!
|
I too measured way ahead but ummm...I had a 10 lb + baby and he was only 2 days over. Anyway, I think some of it had to do with the fact that I have a really short mid section and there was no where for him to go but out. So obviously, I was huge. You look great though (in your avie) and as long as you are both healthy, I see no reason to be alarmed!

I measured about a month ahead all the way through my pregnancy with #4 too! That last month and a half, I didn't change much at all though. The ultrasound tech said the dates were right, that baby wasn't too big, it was just after having so many babies, my body "knew" it needed the room. Uh, ok. lol
|
You look so cute!!!! I'm not measuring too much ahead, but I am HUGE. I had an u/s to check the size about a month ago and everyone said she was normal and a good size--but when I came home and checked averages, she was like 2 weeks ahead (I know u/s aren't perfect though). Anyway, I'm small too, and this is #3 for me, so maybe we just get huge and have good sized babies. My last was 2 weeks early and 8lbs... so uh, I'm hoping this baby is at least 2 weeks early!

I measured WAY ahead with JP. I was measuring 8+ weeks ahead at 33 weeks so they had me do a level 2 US...it said he was about 4lbs. Not quite two weeks later, my water broke, they did another US and he was guesstimated to be 4˝lbs. He came two days later, they then readjusted my due date BACK by two weeks (meaning I was 33 weeks at delivery, not 35 like they thought) and he was 7lbs 1oz. Eep!
My next pregnancy, I refused to allow measurements. I'm a large girl, they're off no matter what they do. Oh, and they underguesstimated D's weight by nearly 2lbs as well, though he was only 5 weeks early. |
Have you seen the same doc for each pregnancy? Sometimes they just don't realize it's common.
There are all sorts of reasons that you could be measuring ahead, and lots aren't anything to worry about, so we'll just be happy that you get an ultrasound! YAY! I think you are looking fabulous too! |
Thanks again girlys! Sarah I hope that you get to go in 2 weeks sooner to babe! That would be awesome!
Melinda yup I see a doctor and a midwife. Small practice. Its weird cause my bestfriend sees them too. She is TINY 4'11 has huge babies for her frame 9 plus pounds and has gone over due with both and they never stress. Here i am on baby number 4 and they are freakin out LOL. |
