i need a nudge. :D

lauren grier 02-20-2009 02:24 PM

well I just said this..
but snot scares me.
thusly.. I am against nose piercings haha.

ditzyscrap 02-20-2009 02:25 PM

Yes, yes you should...

lovely1m 02-20-2009 02:25 PM

Nope, they often look like pimples when they are just studs and the rings are scary to get caught on things and pull out.

yossarian 02-20-2009 02:27 PM

Yeah if you hate it you can always take it out :) I have a tiny sparkly stud in my lip and I love it xxx

ColleenSwerb 02-20-2009 02:31 PM

I vote yes :) I think they're so cute and would get one if Jordan wouldn't kill me.
Plus, like Sophie said, if you hate it just take it out. No harm no foul :)

melmos75 02-20-2009 02:32 PM

Nooooooooooooo!!!! Don't ruin your pretty face with metal!!

ETA: Aren't you going back to school for nursing? A nose piercing might have a negative impact on finding a job.

Angie4b1g 02-20-2009 02:35 PM

OMG no.

flattsgurl 02-20-2009 02:35 PM

Absolutely! :) I think you have the perfect nose for it and you would look totally hawt! I would have mine done if my boss wouldn't totally freak. I had it done years ago and loved it. Back when I first had it though (about 10 years ago) people were always freaking about it and I just got annoyed with having to take it in and out for work so much. So if you are able to get it without having to worry about taking it in and out. GO FOR IT! It can be removed and you'd never know. :)

amystoffel 02-20-2009 02:39 PM

Yes!!!!! I want to get mine re-done. I took it out a few years ago...and I miss it.

Laura_A 02-20-2009 02:40 PM

I think you have a gorgeous, exotic face and IMO, a nose piercing would be distracting. I say NO!

I was totally gonna mention the pimple thing. lol :D

Joan 02-20-2009 02:49 PM

I really miss my pierced nose. DO IT! Just promise me you'll do it at a proper piercing place that uses needles, not a gun. :)

Traci Reed 02-20-2009 03:02 PM

yup you should...I loooved mine!

AnnieBananie 02-20-2009 03:22 PM

I'd totally get one if I didn't have a giant nose that didn't really need accentuating.

It's better than a tattoo *shrug* You can get rid of it if you don't like it.

Leila 02-20-2009 03:32 PM

No! Eeeeeeeeew....

Jennifer 02-20-2009 03:43 PM

Do you want some dirty old man getting his jollies from messing with your nose???

:D:D:D

J/K--they can look hot, but don't ruin your gorgeous face. Think of the swelling. Plus, if it gets infected, it could lead to pink eye.

scrappychic 02-20-2009 03:46 PM

go for it!

dirty old man....???

more like tattooed hottie messing with your nose!

the swelling is bad for a few days. but if you wash it ALOT like they tell you too, it's not bad. I think I had the cleanest nose in Tucson for about a month after I got mine done.

Traci Reed 02-20-2009 03:52 PM

I didn't swell, nor did it get infected or have an issue with snot..LOL

When I took it out there was no issue, the hole closed and you can't even tell it was there..

weirdos :P

pewtertm 02-20-2009 03:53 PM

OUCH!!! I'm a big coward, so heck no...they do that with a needle LOL!

Personally, I don't like piercings...ears are about all I can deal with. But at least if you do it and don't like it, you can take it out. I always wonder about the kids I saw at the HS I worked at...the 15 and 16 yr olds who had those disks the size of quarters stretching out the holes in their ears...where will they be at 50 and 60? Will they still want to wear those gigantic ugly things? And if not, will they like the look of long saggy earlobes with big old holes in them?

Ok, ramble over...back to regularly scheduled programming.

Brooke W 02-20-2009 03:57 PM

If I was your age now, i'd still pass, lol. But that's me. It's your business honey, you do what ya want :)

BUT!! Just imagine if you had.:blink::blink:

I'm just messing with you all. I couldn't do it b/c of a bad upper ear piercing experience, but I'm not saying they're ugly or anything. Lizzy will be hot no matter what (unless she DOES get infected, which could lead to pink eye, and then brain rot)--not sure how hot that would be.

:P

sczos911 02-20-2009 04:00 PM

do it. I did over 2 years ago. No issues with it. No dirty ol' man pierced me, either - it was a young tatted & pierced guy. I am a sissy & it hurt. My eyes watered and I flinched.

I had to give it up when I moved into the banking world this past July. Sucked. :( But it closed up - no issue, no scar - nada.

cheltzey 02-20-2009 04:29 PM

Absolutely not. They are so distracting when you're talking to someone. I always just wind up staring at their nose.

lizzyfizzy 02-20-2009 04:33 PM

so it's official. i'm getting it done. lmao.

i didn't expect so many skerred conservatives in here. bwahahahaha!!!

crystalbella77 02-20-2009 04:36 PM

I think you are totally hawt without one my dear! :D

lizzyfizzy 02-20-2009 04:40 PM

I've got a brush that's FILLED with sparkle. It doesn't leave holes. :p

And I'm not conservative, I just think nose piercings are gross.

lizzyfizzy 02-20-2009 04:44 PM

why do you think they're gross?

yeah, what Amy said. I miss mine!
I want my nose done again ... and my lip and my eyebrow ... but I'm a freak like that - to go with my tongue piercing that I've had for over 7 years.

Darcy Baldwin 02-20-2009 05:32 PM

Well I want an upper ear one done . I've always wanted one. It'll give me an excuse to wear the diamond studs my g'ma left me!

I don't like big ones on the nose, but little sparkly studs can be cute on the right face ... and I think you've got the face, Lizzster.

newfiemountiewife 02-20-2009 05:33 PM

I want my eyebrow done, but I know Tony would kill me. I think about it all the time! I just want a little ring in there. I haven't pierced anything aside from my ears.

So yes. I would!

Boogs. Bleh. I feel the same way about tongue piercings, too many chances for food goo to get in there. I've got a soft gag reflex, so that stuff skeeves me out. LOL!

I have never had food goo stuck on my tongue, thank you very much. My only issue is caramel - it is so good, but so evil (it's the only thing that sticks!)

really hard to tell with crappy webcam pic (the little sparkle by my upper lip is my barbell) ...

Well, there are worse things LOL....thinking of a guy in college who was called 'a human sprinkler system' because of where he had his piercings  OUCH!!!!!!!

Could be worse...I dated a guy that had a spider tattooed on the end of his :blink::blink:

Lizzy, I think it will look great on you...I've had mine for 11 years this month and never regretted it except right after it was done, but that was only because the guy that did mine mixed manufacturers of needle and ring and when they should have matched in size they didn't so he had to do it over again...that REALLY hurt!

ZaCola3 02-20-2009 06:40 PM

I think you should!
I have always wanted one!~

EWWWW, I don't even have that particular body part and it still hurts to think of that!!!! And LOL, it would be hard to be intimate...who'd want a spider crawling up there???????????:blink::blink:

AmyM 02-20-2009 06:44 PM

I like the little ones on people that have a nice nose. Not the hoops on honkers :D I think it would be cute on you. It's your face, do whatever the heck you wanna do with it ;)

jessica31876 02-20-2009 06:53 PM

if you really wanted to you should. I got my tonhue pierced several years ago but eventually had to take it out because Im allergic to metal and it was causing problems. Kept irritating the area around the piercing and I was getting a small lump forming inside my tongue. I also wanted to get my nose pierved but with the reaction of my tongue piercing Im kinda afraid to to it now

lauren grier 02-20-2009 06:58 PM

teehee...
so really, I always make the snot comment whenever someone gets their nose pierced. Lisa- on our team- she endured a million questions from me. I'm jsut a very sneezy person so I don't think it would go over with me haha.

oh and ita.. I've never had a food issue with my tongue piercing :p I've had it for like 9 yrs now. I had my labret done forever too (that one is gone now).. Of course, the fact that I've had no issues with my mouth.. does not change my mind about my nose hahaha.

oh ps.. whoever asked about plugs and saggy ears (lol). your ears can shrink down- but not all the way after you go past a certain point. I have smaller ones in now than I use to.. and I had to stretch up to this size after having mine out for a few years. I'll never be able to wear normal earrings in that hole though cause I had a dermal punch to start off (had incorrect placement of my original piercing when I was 8 so we just started a hole for me).

ROFLMAO!!!! I think I'll keep my thoughts on that one to myself. :w00t:

Priscilla 02-20-2009 07:43 PM

eh.

I can think of better things to pierce.

That's really interesting to know. And now I'm really curious LOL...is there a general size that's considered point of no return, or does it vary widely from person to person? I'm picturing the 15 yr old I knew, and his plugs were about between the size of a silver dollar and half dollar, and last time I saw him he was planning on going up in size again.

lauren grier 02-20-2009 07:52 PM

the point of no return is usually about a zero gauge (i had gone one gauge higher than that.. and shrank down to about an 10/8- regular earrings are about a 14 or 16) .. the 15yr old was in inches if they were the size of a silver dollar (10,8,6,4,2,0,00 -- those are all measured in mm's and after that htey measure in inches.. so like a 6 is 4mm-that's where i am now that's why I know that lol.. after 00 they start going in like 7/16" then 1/2" I think.. don't quote me on those being correct)-- so past that. He won't ever have normal ears, but they should shrink down a little.

joelsgirl 02-20-2009 08:05 PM

*I* think nose rings are perfectly fine...for people who don't have children in middle school.

i say let Maddie get her nose pierced!

KristinCB 02-20-2009 08:12 PM

I had mine done but they did it with just the stud and not with the hook thing to keep it in while your nose is getting used to it or whatever, the stud kept falling out as I slept and so my nose kept getting irritated by it and got a little infected and i didn't want to be bothered with it anymore. lol
