Really Random Question

This is a bit strange to ask, but I'm curious. When you brush your teeth, do you use cold or warm water?

I've always used cold and never even thought of using warm - mostly because it feels kinda icky to mix toothpaste with warm water. Maybe I'm just totally weird, though.

lauren grier 02-21-2009 02:51 PM

I use hot water.. lol I think *I* am prolly the weirdo though.

Mandy 02-21-2009 02:52 PM

I use cold to get my toothbrush wet and lukewarm to rinse. Cold water burns my mouth after brushing.

scrapperjade 02-21-2009 02:54 PM

I use HOT water.... I have really sensative teeth to cold, don't even want to *think* about brushing with cold! Plus I like the way the hot water softens the bristles :)!

ZaCola3 02-21-2009 02:54 PM

I used cold to brush and rinse.

almost hot...very very warm. I have sensitive teeth too.

momtutu 02-21-2009 02:58 PM

cold here!

justanotherjen 02-21-2009 04:20 PM

I've always used cold. I can't stand lukewarm water in my mouth. Once I had been washing my face or hands or something and then went to brush my teeth and forgot to let the water run cold and when I went to rinse with the lukewarm water in the cup I almost gagged and choked. I immediately dumped out the warm water and filled the cup with cold so I could rinse.

AnnieBananie 02-21-2009 04:22 PM

Lukewarm

pewtertm 02-21-2009 04:32 PM

I use warm because the cold hurts my teeth.

Paula 02-21-2009 04:43 PM

I use warm water. I have a strict dental regime that I have to follow, and that's what my dentist recommended.

jennpage 02-21-2009 04:45 PM

I guess I would say lukewarm. Sometimes cold if I end up in a hurry and don't pay attention but never hot.

Sharon Kay 02-21-2009 05:15 PM

cool...not cold and not lukewarm...just a tad on the cool side...

wildblueeyez 02-21-2009 05:24 PM

LenaGardner 02-21-2009 05:33 PM

tkelley 02-21-2009 05:36 PM

sannajeannine 02-21-2009 05:45 PM

newfiemountiewife 02-21-2009 05:55 PM

As cold as possible!

krystalhartley 02-21-2009 06:03 PM

Cold here. My husband does warm and I did it accidentally once and nearly gagged.

lizzyfizzy 02-21-2009 06:15 PM

i think i just use which ever i happen to turn on.

jessica31876 02-21-2009 11:06 PM

lukewarm for me but for a good part of the year the water does not really run cold here. Its just barely cool. Sometimes will even run warm out of the cold side LOL

Jennilyn 02-21-2009 11:29 PM

I started brushing my teeth in the shower when I was pregnant with DD1...now I just do it out of habit. So, I use warm.

yeah, what Ms Fizz said.

MelindaH 02-22-2009 01:23 AM

I use as cold as I can stand ... or sometimes lukewarm if I'm having sensitive teeth at the moment. I think it leaves my mouth feeling cooler and cleaner when I use cool water. If it is warm, I almost feel like I didn't brush my teeth at all, kwim? Well, those who prefer warm won't relate, but maybe some others will. lol.

Me too. I'm actually surprised at all the people that use warm or hot. I can't stand it that way.

pbumbaca 02-22-2009 08:50 AM

Sensitive teeth here so cold is out, has to be at least very warm for me.

I'm with you. In the shower,so God willing, the water is warm!

Sarah8914 02-22-2009 10:21 AM

Okay, I never even thought about people using warm or hot water!!! I definitely use cold. If I thought about using warm (which I haven't and probably won't) I would probably rule it out by the fact that it takes 100 years for our water to get warm.

Rae's World 02-22-2009 12:25 PM

I'm a hottie!!!!

~Julie~ 02-22-2009 03:48 PM

Warm... I can not brush with cold.. I have very sensitive teeth.

meganmecrazy 02-22-2009 04:26 PM

I use hot water.

Joan 02-22-2009 04:33 PM

I think if you ever drained a hot water tank, you might think twice about using anything but cold. ;) :p

Priscilla 02-23-2009 12:12 AM

um - I think its cold

switchwiz 02-23-2009 02:05 AM

cold for sure!

Jamies Creations 02-23-2009 02:21 AM

Lukewarm for me, I have super sensitive teeth and will be in pain for 10 minutes if I use cold...

Kim 02-23-2009 02:36 AM

I guess cold because I just turn the water on and use whatever comes out... which is always cold.

I rinse with cold though. I like the way it makes my mouth feel fresh and clean afterwards
