Shoot me now...
I forgot to tell you girls, I got a job :) Well, said job requires a government security clearance and I'm going to DIE filling out this novel. They'll find me one day with the pen and paper still in my hand. I knew what I was getting into...I've watched two husbands (:p) fill them out...but man...doing it myself is a different story!
I kind of forgot to mention it because I got the employment offer on the day when I was having my LEEP done, so I was offline...and it hasn't been on the exact forefront of my mind because I don't start until 4 wks from now :) The company is Affiliated Computer Services and I'll be contracting for Homeland Security. Funniest thing is, Tabatha worked for them many moons ago, but she worked for the INS. I love that it's only 30 hours a week and it pays worth my while...so I can't complain... Except I'm going to. These clearances take 3-12 months to get (I'll obviously start work without the actual clearance) and mine will for sure take 12 months with all the blanks I'm having to leave. Ummm, sorry I don't stay in contact with my 1st grade teacher's uncle. :p |
Oh Lena! That is wonderful news! Congratulations!!
|
Oh thats awesome Lena! Not so much about the paper-work though, lol!
|
Fun ain't it? Oy vey! Congrats on the job though! :)
|
Congrats on the job Lena, boo on the paperwork though!
|
It's a shame they don't ask for internet acquaintances. I'd use every single one of you! I have WAY more of those than the other stuff they're asking for. I can't remember my next-door-neighbor's name from 2002. I've had two kids since then. I'm so toast. :p

Lena my husbands uncles daughter was getting a job working as a blackjack dealer or some other type job in the casinos in Atlantic City and they did a similar b/g check on her!! I mean I know she would have to work with tons and tons of money but I wouldnt think they would ask all the questions they did. They wanted her whole familys names even extended family like my husband and me!! I never did hear if she got the job or not but I know alot of people in his family work in the casinos. Good luck with your paperwork. I know it cant be fun but it is awesome you got a job!! Congratulations

Nothing is more trippy than answering the door to my parents house (I was about 15) and have the FBI flash a badge at me and ask to speak to my parents. My brother was applying for a job as a security person @ Hanford (nuclear site in WA). They even went around the neighborhood talking to all the neighbors and asking them questions. This was many moons ago... so I'm sure the paperwork is even more so than say about 20 or so years ago.
|
Oh! Sucks about the paper work, but congrats on the job! That's good news!
|
Congrats on the job!
Susan |

|
Congrats on the job Lena!!!
|
Congrats on the job love!
|
I can't understand why they need all that. Steve just had to do one of those with his new promotion and he was getting more and more frustrated. LOL
Congrats on the new job!! |
Man, paperwork like that blows.
But WHOOHOOOOO on the job! Congrats pretty lady!! |
Wait, wait.....
I am supposed to start on May 4th with ACS...but I just got another call for an interview on Tuesday...and honestly if I'm offered that job I will probably take it! It doesn't require a gov't security clearance and it's closer to home, plus better hours I'm fairly certain. We'll see! Please keep everything crossed for me! Lately I've just been very tired of staying home and wanting to use my degree. |
OOOOO, those forms are the worst! Luckily I did one when I was 19 so didn't have that much info to remember since I was so young and new to the world!!! That thing is a novel. But I am sure it is an e-form versus one you have to use a typewriter for so there is the positive side to it :)!
