lizzyfizzy 07-07-2009 01:58 PM

i hadn't heard about it. i doubt it, in any case. i already know his story. lol!!

Paula 07-07-2009 01:58 PM

Nope, I'm Michael Jackson'd out. LOL

Rae's World 07-07-2009 02:06 PM

nope!!

kscwgirl 07-07-2009 02:06 PM

It's his memorial service, Lizzy.

I dvr'ed it and will watch when I get home.

emmasmommy 07-07-2009 02:07 PM

I'm with Paula. I've had about all of Michael Jackson that I can take.

rochelle789 07-07-2009 02:11 PM

I have it on in the background. Mariah Carey's performance was good. I've always loved her version of I'll Be There.

newfiemountiewife 07-07-2009 02:12 PM

Yes, I am. I love Stevie Wonder.

amandabarugh 07-07-2009 02:12 PM

I'm watching.

ajf9597 07-07-2009 02:17 PM

I haven't actually watched anything Michael Jackson, but it's on in the background. I like hearing all the musicians that are performing.

amandabarugh 07-07-2009 02:17 PM

Oh, I do not agree with Magic Johnson. MJ's father was/is horrible.

ajf9597 07-07-2009 02:18 PM

Oh, I heard they are having a special with his ex-wife on tonight, though

Jenn Barrette 07-07-2009 02:18 PM

It is sad that MJ died...but honestly I would rather be watching my soap operas right now :(

Mandy 07-07-2009 02:20 PM

I'm watching. It's very touching, actually. I teared up a time or two.

Libby Pritchett 07-07-2009 02:21 PM

Yep. I've been watching coverage all morning, and I'm watching the service now.

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only who feels this way.

I agree. It sounds like he was a disgusting excuse for a father.

amandabarugh 07-07-2009 02:51 PM

Wow, Jermaine's performance was heartbreaking.:(

ajf9597 07-07-2009 02:51 PM

Did you guys hear Jennifer Hudson? Loved that song and John Mayer was good too!

Yes, they both were very good.

MamaBee 07-07-2009 02:55 PM

I too have it on in the background... even if you are a big fan or not... it's touching to see how many people he has touched in this life.

My grandfather just passed away yesterday, so this has been a bit hard for me to watch... :(

I'm with you Jenn!

rochelle789 07-07-2009 02:55 PM

Loved John Mayer's guitar performance. That wasn't what I expected it would be, but in a good way.

Sharon Kay 07-07-2009 03:27 PM

I grew up with Michael Jackson, his brothers...it's my generation...my childhood growing up...so of course I am watching. I'm the same age as Michael.

This last performace is really a tearjerker, IMO.

Absolutely!

MamaBee 07-07-2009 03:43 PM

OMG... just now hearing his daughter speak... I've totally lost it!

And thank you so much for all the hugs regarding my grandfather...

newfiemountiewife 07-07-2009 03:45 PM

I just lost it too. His little girl is just beautiful, and she's just so sad. I feel so bad for those kids. It was a beautiful memorial to him and his life.

Oh me too! Hearing her call him "daddy" puts a more real-ness to Michael...

I would imagine this would be very hard watching this with just losing your grandfather....{{hugs}}...

~Julie~ 07-07-2009 03:47 PM

Ugh.. I lost it when Usher broke down while singing Gone too soon. The last performance was a tearjerker too. I just want to hug his little girl. :(

*Kelly* 07-07-2009 03:57 PM

I started watching when Brooke went up on stage (love her!). I enjoyed what some had to say but sad to see some people used this as a platform of sorts (IMO). Enjoyed it.. Usher was awesome! Not of fan of the brothers singing.. they certainly don't have the talent MJ had. I wasn't intending on watching but got sucked in.

I have an autographed MJ doll and my Thriller album is autographed by MJ. It's quite a treasure now.

BrattyMeg 07-07-2009 04:12 PM

I watched...was actually a really nice tribute to his life.

I lost it when Paris spoke though..wow..the family went thru extremes to keep them from the media. Katie Couric said it was almost like their coming out. Made me realize we've lost more than a global icon..these kids lost a dad they obviously adored. Was refreshing to hear such fun stories about him and things that made him more personable.

This is exactly how I felt about it too. It made him more real to me I think, and Paris was just beautiful.

AnnieBananie 07-07-2009 04:30 PM

I forgot all about it today... dangit :(

ITA!

rochelle789 07-07-2009 04:43 PM

Dangit! I had to go to my office real quick, so I missed the end. I'm going to have to look for it online later to catch the end.

Chels85 07-07-2009 05:00 PM

i watched it

kscwgirl 07-07-2009 08:07 PM

Finally watching it. Mariah is singing and I'm already teary. :(

carriesmom 07-07-2009 08:10 PM

I was at work. Probably wouldn't have though anyway!

lisabranka 07-07-2009 08:43 PM

I didn't watch it per se, but watching the national news they had bits and pieces and when his daughter Paris spoke.. it brought tears to my eyes.. Those poor kids lost a daddy :(
