A small question for b'feeding moms
Okay, a few weeks ago i noticed some veins around the breasts, greenish under the skin veins. while it is visible if you look hard, it's not something really noticeable.
Yesterday, while trying on some clothes at a store, i saw that there were tiny reddish-purple veins!! and they are more visible because they look like they're on top of the skin. Is this normal?? I didn't have them with my first baby. I've been exclusively bfeeding my DD for 5 months now. |
My veins in my breasts are very visible, though I think they're mostly green. I think it's all totally normal, unless you have some pain or something associated with them.

No pain, but i guess low-cut tops are out! :D
|
Mine are very visible too and I have always heard it is normal.
|
I think it's normal... hope so because mine are visible too.
|
I used to get that when Alex was due to be fed, and it helped to lay a warm compress on to relieve the 'uncomfortable' feeling - a tip from my health visitor.
|
I think it's pretty normal. It was like that with my first two kids, and I'm sure it'll be the same this time around.
|
reddish-purple... could those be stretch marks? that's the only place I got stretch marks. But you can tell they are just on the skin, not under like veins!

Mine did except the bluish/green ones. But I have very fair skin and they aren't as noticable as when BFing! I think I read someplace that when you are bf'ing blood flow to that area increases and causes the veins to be more noticable?

I remember this earlier on with DS. He will turn 1 in two weeks (:eek:) and still feeding, and I haven't taken any notice for months, but after your post, I've checked and can't see any little veins anymore, so they do go away!!
