Strange Random Question!... Colors...

So, we were doing the "what's this color?" game with my son... and he's always confused by light blue (AKA indigo, right?). He doesn't realize that light blue is blue but he understands red vs. pink...
So, why the heck is blue vs. light blue so tough for him (or all kids maybe?) ???
And why is there a grey for black+white, a pink for red+white and lilac/lavendar for purple+white, but no technical name for yellow+white or green+white?
lol... I know I'm weird! :p

I am not trying to sound all bosy and know it all, but indigo is actually a blue-ish purple color. It is the color between blue and violet in the electro-magnetic spectrum.

FWIW - I also wonder why other white/primary colors (like yellow/green/orange) don't have unique names like pink, lavander, and grey.

Orange plus white is peach.

Sorry, just had to be annoying. We don't call anything indigo here. It's light blue. To me, indigo is a deep blue.

I always thought of peach to be orange orange- since a peach an orange, not light orange color... I guess it's all in where you're from :p

From what I've been told by teachers over the years, the blue and green spectrums are the hardest for young kids to distinguish. I know that my boys confused those two (and their variations) a lot at first.

indigo is dark blue. :)

Mine have trouble with the light colors too.
