whats for dinner tonight?

We are having meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn and buttermilk biscuits. So what is for dinner at your house tonight?

scrapperjade 10-20-2009 03:30 PM

I'm sick today and don't feel like cooking or eating. I'm just going to throw a frozen pizza in for DH and call it done, lol!

Last night I made cream of mushroom pork chops with rice and asparagus - it was YUMMY!

Jenn Barrette 10-20-2009 03:31 PM

Either nachos or tacos with ground beef and black beans. I also have a craving for cherry cheesecake, so I am making one for dessert!

emmasmommy 10-20-2009 03:31 PM

we're having meatloaf tonight too LOL Although, no nummy mashed taters and biscuits. DH started back on South Beach yesterday so I don't wanna be a mean wife and tempt him :p

Darcy Baldwin 10-20-2009 03:33 PM

It's probabaly taco night for us since I can leave it to simmer in the crock pot while we go to tae kwon do.

jessica31876 10-20-2009 03:34 PM

ohhh I cant eat meatloaf without potatoes and gravy! I love meatloaf though. I could eat it several times a week I think LOL

The way my kitchen looks right now? Nothing.

That kind of sucks too since we're having missionaries over tonight, but there's no way I can clean that room enough to cook and have it ready by five.

jessica31876 10-20-2009 03:35 PM

cheesecake sounds yummy Jenn...save me a piece :)

Sauce your own spaghetti. I just boil the pasta. It's up to the eater to add pesto, butter or tomato sauce (or let me know to heat it up first).

Tonight is bunco night so my dinner will be eaten elsewhere.:)

MamaBee 10-20-2009 04:34 PM

hmm... I think we have to head to Green Bay tonight so DH can rip in some radio voice tracking for Sunday... so we'll probably eat at Moe's. If we don't go... then it will be chili... DH is having a chili cook off tomorrow at work so I had to come up with something.

Sharon Kay 10-20-2009 04:34 PM

Heck I haven't even fed anyone lunch yet! We're at bowling....hmmm maybe homemade pizza? I have food leftover from out to eat last night...so guess that will be tomorrow's lunch. Guess I better have a plan for when we get home...going to have some majorly hungry boys!

Sharon Kay 10-20-2009 04:36 PM

Tacos will be what is here if I don't get home soon...but we have to stop by my mom's house and see what Spy Bot is doing to her computer...my guess is she has a virus...it's not letting her do anything. Sigh. Can't get her to STOP CLICKING on every link people send her.

Tracyfish 10-20-2009 04:39 PM

Pork Chops with Spicy Peach Glaze, rice and corn on the cob.

gandcsmama 10-20-2009 04:41 PM

We are going out for supper tonight, but I cooked some pretty amazing crockpot BBQ pork yesterday.

digideb 10-20-2009 04:50 PM

I have no clue! And it's about an hour away from dinner haha! Maybe leftovers from last night...white bean chicken chili. Yum!

Emmy 10-20-2009 04:52 PM

Beef stew and crescent rolls.

nikkiARNGwife 10-20-2009 05:00 PM

Tonight is taco night :)

Kat Stokes 10-20-2009 05:33 PM

Mmmmm Tacos sound good!!! But I have to save those for tomorrow night since we'll probably be at baseball until 7:30. Tonight will probably be fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn.

Traci Reed 10-20-2009 05:38 PM

beef stew in the crock pot :)

Susan Bartolini 10-20-2009 05:56 PM

Baked chicken, corn on the cob, and sliced organic tomatoes.

tuneskids 10-20-2009 06:34 PM

we are having meatloaf too, Quin decided that's what he wants tonight. So it will be that, some mashed taters/gravy and either peas or corn ... whichever I can find in the freezer.

jessica31876 10-20-2009 07:04 PM

made some apple cobbler for dessert tonight. Ohhh gosh it was so good. Ive decided I like Ritz crackers better in meatloaf then plain saltines. I also want to next time try bbq sauce in place of tomato sauce. Not sure if itll be good or bad but itll be different

mummytothree 10-20-2009 07:12 PM

we went grocery shopping......yes all 7 of us  so we got McDonald's......yes all 7 of us  DH and I are gluttons for punishment :D :D

newfiemountiewife 10-20-2009 07:15 PM

I put my foot down with my kids last week, so now they will have to eat whatever I make.

It's going well so far, the older two are trying tons of new things, Rae is not, but I think she's vegetarian LOL. I've been cooking most every night. I started skating again today, so I work until 7, and I missed dinner. But the kids and Tony had:

pork chops in homemade sweet and sour sauce in the crock pot
I threw in some bell peppers, that I chopped with my NEW Slap Chop LOL
a side of white rice
a side of green beans

I had some left overs when I got home.

jessica31876 10-20-2009 07:20 PM

wow you are brave!! I once babysat for this girl who had three kids under three and I had a three and five (or six year old cant remember LOL) and OMGosh it was soooo hard!!! One of the kids was well not really bad but she was very spirited. I think she just wanted attention and her mommy only gave her attention when she was bad so she learned to misbehave. I loved her though so she eventually learned to behave for me

We had elbow noodles with tomato sauce. I am still sick and just trying to eat things that don't make me want to bring them back up.

Kiki 10-20-2009 08:43 PM

I think we are having leftover chicken with some baby potatoes and a cauliflower au gratin. That's if I can get my butt out of this chair...DH's decided to do a version of the Julie & Julia thing and go through Julia Child's cookbook a bit at a time. Last night was Potage aux Poireau (Leek soup) and roasted chicken (that we had to do on the BBQ because our little convection oven is too small. :)

gracielou 10-20-2009 09:00 PM

I made this Pioneer Woman recipe tonight and it was such a hit with my family. It was so delicious. My daughter even had 3 servings of it.

SeattleSheri 10-20-2009 09:05 PM

I just made Indian Biriyani Chicken Curry with mushrooms, potatoes, zucchini and basmati rice. It was so yummy! I garnished it with cilantro and it was perfection!

meganmecrazy 10-20-2009 10:14 PM

The kids will be having POKEMON Mac n Cheese tonight (shhh don't tell them but I'm putting the 39 cent Hy-Vee mac n cheese mixed in with it...makes that $1.39 mac go farther). ;) ...and hot dogs...

I will prob make taco meat with the rest of the meat I have in the frig...so the adults will have soft tacos. As far as my 20yo ds is concerned, he is NOT acting like an adult so he will prob have to eat hot dogs and POKEMON mac n cheese. :p

I have to admit, I didn't make the curry paste from scratch (I have before, but I like the convenience of getting it from a jar). So, I have some Biryani curry paste that I got from the ethnic food aisle.
3 large chicken breasts and 1 onion, diced and cooked in olive oil until browned
add the next ingredients, stir, simmer for 15 minutes
6-8 Tbsp Biryani Curry paste (made from oil, cumin, cilantro, garlic, ginger, tumeric and chile pepper)
1 - 15 oz of fresh or canned diced tomatoes
1 zucchini, sliced 1/2" thickness
2 medium potatoes (sliced thinly or pre-cooked)
4 large mushrooms, sliced
1 cup water
garnish with cilantro & serve with basmati rice :)

It's pretty fast and easy and even the kidlets loved it!
