"Return to sender", question
If I get something (a letter in a envelop, not like a product or anything) in the mail and open it can I re-seal it and write return to sender on it??
|
I've only ever returned stuff that wasn't addressed to anybody in my household so no idea..I assume it was addressed to you?
|
really i'm just being nosy haha..b/c honestly I have no clue
|
If it's been opened, no, you can't.
|
If you open it... well.... sneakily/illegally/whatever... then you could probably get away with it.
Steam it open carefully, and find a way to use water to re-seal it. There are tutorials online on how to open a letter and reseal it. (don't ask how I know this) |
Thanks Darcy...I did do a bit of googling after I posted and kinda figured that out!!!
Meg: Yes it was addressed to me. I didn't recognize the sender's name but it was from the town just next to my "hometown" so I opened it thinking.....it could be anything. Well it was a "form letter" from some strange woman sending her condolences for my brother's death and enclosed were several "religious tracts". I'm assuming she the type of person that stalks the obituaries (she called my brother by his given name and no one knows it but it was printed in the newspaper) and then forces her views and beliefs on unsuspecting people!!! Bleck  just left a BAD taste in my mouth and I wanted to return the letter to let her know of my displeasure. I might still....on my own dime!!!! |
Why don't you just grab a new envelope - stick her's in there and put a sticky on it that simply says "No thanks" or something like that -- and then mail it back to her.
And I've returned mail that was opened. Sometimes it was cuz I opened it without looking, only to discover it wasn't mine. A couple times the letter was just open already (poorly closed to begin with) and they were always taken by the mailman with no problems on my end. |
that is......................... not cool. LOL i edited out all my other wordings. they were equally not cool.
