NSBR: Hair help
So I was thinking about getting my hair cut but I'm not 100% sure about it yet. I know that it's just hair and will grow back...especially now, thank you prenatals.
Anyway, I want your guys' input on it too. It's always a good thing to get opinions. This is my current hair (not the best pic) http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...icture0002.jpg I was thinking possibly a bob or shoulder length bob, something cute, easy to manage. Maybe something like this? http://static.becomegorgeous.com/gal...es_longbob.jpg I don't know, what do you think? Suggestions? Keep it, or cut it? |
Ok first of all...you look really good.
Secondly...I would cut it shorter some (few inches), but not drastic. Preggo hormones are bad and you will overeact if you don't like it. So I say somewhere in the middle of what you have and what the photo looks like. Definitely lightly layered and some of the length taken off. But I would NOT go for a bob right now. Trust me preggo girls always go through this, its like some sort of hormonal induced haircut thing! You need to read Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy...seriously funny and lots of good info including the preggo haircut dilemma. |
I agree... maybe take a couple inches off, first... you can always go back... I'm one of those that totally cut their hair during prego... but then I'm also one that just does it for the heck of it... yeah... right now I'm 13 inches shorter than I was a few weeks ago. :p
That bob is very cute! |
I say do a little at a time, that way it won't be such a drastic change! You look amazing by the way, and I think that cut would really flatter you
|
I cut my hair right after having a baby and really regretted it. Taking forever to grow back. (Mine was probably longer than yours and I went to about chin length.) So I agree, start slow with a few inches. :)
|
i say cut it! you have the perfect oval shaped face that will look fabulous with any find of haircut! i am partial to shorter hair, being a hairdresser, i just think that shorter hair is more fun and flirty. If you didn't live across the country i would tell ya to come on over and lets cut it!! hehe
|
I vote for the cut! It's not a drastic change but it looks like it would be just enough to give you a little more bounce. I think it would be adorable! :)

I'm thinking of doing the longer bob like Hayden's because it's not too much cut off and it will grow back. My hair grows fast. Plus I will still be able to get it into a ponytail. |
I also vote cut it... but I'm one that cuts mine every time it grows out. Also this is my big reasoning... baby's pull hair and it hurts! With your hair that long your gonna constantly trying to get that baby's fingers out of your hair, or I was and hated it. Went and hacked off my hair. :)

My hair is in a layered bob above my shoulders and I love it so much more than when I had long hair. But if you haven't had short hair before, you should know that shorter hair doesn't necessarily mean easier. I still spend about the same time drying and straightening my hair as I did when it was long. Plus, mine isn't long enough to put in a ponytail anymore so I have to actually do something with it everyday unlike when it was longer and I could put it back when it was still wet if I was in a hurry. I also have to get haircuts more often. When it was long, I'd go about 8 weeks, now by about 4 I'm thinking it already looks shaggy so I'm usually at more like 5-6 weeks.
None of that is to discourage you - I personally think it's totally worth it. But I just wanted to put it out there since it may or may not be what you're looking for with a baby on the way. So if you haven't had short hair before, I'd probably do something shoulder length first (the length in the picture would be good) and see whether you like it or not. I think short hair would be really cute though! |
So just to do a super quick fake virtual makeover...with a terrible pic of course...I took the current picture of the possible hair style and pasted it on my head. Not my best work, but it will do. (don't mind the terrible pic of me and bad editing)
Yay or Nay? http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...nn/virtual.jpg |
I think that is a super cute cut & it would look great! Something to keep in mind, though: short hair is usually though to be more low maintance, but I think a lot of the time it actually requires more styling in the morning. But I think this one would be fine just "hanging", KWIM??

Cut! Cut! Cut!!
I'm a "it's just hair and it grows back" kind of girl...and I've chopped mine SEVERAL times in my life. That style is so cute and stylish! I say go for it. It really isn't "short", just layered to give extra volume. be sure to share pics if you do!! :) |
The desire to cut is totally a preggo thing and I say - do it! Don't go super short and realize (like others have said) it will require styling to make it look like Hayden's. Ask your hair dresser to cut it so it will lay nice even if it dries on it's own and then ask her to show you how to style it other ways - so worth a little bit of extra tip to know how to do more than one thing with your hair.
My biggest suggestion is to make sure you leave enough to put it in a ponytail or pull the sides up because trust me - you are going to have those days (especially after the baby). That cut would look cute with a hat though too. Come back and show us what you do!!!! |
Im in the minority. I think if it was me I would probably let it grow out for the pregnancy then when the baby is born (or shortly before then) get a super cute shorter cut and donate the hair to Locks for Love. I think the short cut would be cute too but my vote would be to wait :)
|
I think you should cut it, that's a great pic to go off of BTW :p But that style does look pretty good!
|
Im in the no cut camp- but if you do cut it dont go drastic. Just a few inches at first to make sure you like the shorter lenghth. I was so happy when my hair finally started growing when I got pg that there was no way I was cutting it. Plus, Im a ponytail girl and will never cut my hair short enough that it wont go in a ponytail.
|
I'm still kinda on the fence, but leaning more towards cut. My SO is totally against it, "he loves my long hair" blah blah blah. It will grow back.
I need a tiny bit more input. |
GO FOR IT!
