Oh my gosh, I'm trying to keep myself calm but...
 

I am having a hard time keeping calm. My son who just turned 3 just used the potty and there was a lot of blood in it. The whole thing is red. I called the doctor's office and we are about to leave to have that checked out. I am so worried and scared. His name is Joshua. If you can, please say a little prayer for him. I am hoping and praying that it's not serious. My nerves are getting the best of me right now. I know that I need to calm down and collect myself and I will try to do that. I'm just scared.

he's in my heart! with luck it will be nothing- when my neice lived with me the same happened, took her to the er etc and it turned out to be nothing serious at all. GL!

is he still bleeding? cause a little blood will look like a lot once it hits the toilet... not that you should be any less worried. but if he's still bleeding, get him to a doctor ASAP. that could mean internal bleeding. which would be bad.

either way, fingers are crossed that everything is alright. <3

Oh my goodness! I hope everything is okay. My little guy had that same thing happen when he was real little and it was a UTI. It's rare for boys, but does happen. He's in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you so much everyone. I so really appreciate it. We went in and the nurse took the urine (since he uses a little potty I was just able to put it in a cup and take it with us) to test it while the doctor asked questions and checked him. The nurse came in with a piece of paper with some info on it and gave it to the doctor and the doctor nodded when she read it. I asked her what it was and she said "yep, it's definitely blood." I asked her if she would look at the urine herself and she did. When she came back into the room she said, "that's pretty darn red! I can understand now why you were so worried!" She sent in for labs for my little Joshua and for the urine sample, and also an ultrasound. We also got antibiotics in case it is a urine infection it will start doing it's thing right away. We don't get to find out the results until tomorrow. He was such a trooper through it all. He was so happy to get a sucker and 4 stickers. That made me happy. Right before bed he needed to go potty and I was afraid to take him so I asked my husband to take him but he didn't want to go with daddy so I took him. I was afraid of seeing the blood again and when he was done, yep, it was still there, but I needed to just take care of business. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers on my son's behalf and my behalf. I really appreciate it so very much. As soon as we get more answers I will let you know. Thanks again. xoxo

Thanks for the update! I'll be hoping for good results from the doctor. It did remind me about my husband. Years ago he came out the bathroom and told me I needed to take him to the doctor right away. There is nothing like blood in the urine to get a guy's attention! For my hubby it was an infection in his kidneys. He ended up running a really high temp (so don't be surprised if you little guy does) but antibiotics cleared it up in a couple days. Since you've now got the antibiotics, hopefully he is already on the way to recovery! :) lots of hugs for Joshua!
