A lego set is $30-50 and a Gamecube game is in the same range or we could just do a gift card (assuming there is a TRU where he is)

I'm totally open to whatever you think we should get for him but that is what I've set up and Toys R Us allows paypal payments so I won't have to worry about linking to a bank account to get the money out.

I think $100 would be a good amount. It will easily allow CE to get a lego set and a game. I'll be sending money in the morning.

If 20 people send $10, that's more than enough for a DSi and a couple games, and something he can carry with him rather than only use at home (if he's having to stay with family until she recovers etc).

I just did a quick search (on phone) and the DSi is between $135-150 and games are $20-30 each. So that in the $200 ballpark.

When I donated, I clicked "personal" and then "gift". It shouldn't charge a fee if you do it that way! If you clicked on "goods" then it will.

That is how I understand it anyway, and when people have paid me that way, there has been no fee.

Yup, that's how I done it, so I paid the fee for it.

TRU has a few DSi promotions right now that are probably worth looking into (free nerf case with one..that saves $18 bucks..almost another game) and free 2 day shipping but I think you have to use the promo link

also..if you buy Lego Star Wars (19) you can get Lego Batman for $6. If bought in addition to Clone Wars that's 3 good games at a decent price

wow you guys are amazing to be doing this for La and Ce! i'm short on cash right now; i may be able to pick up a kit in her shop but i can't swing much right now. but i do know that La and Ce are two very loved and lucky people. :)
