I've applied

to GRADUATE !!!!

in September - I still have another 5 weeks of school left though for this semester.

My dilemma is - I can invite 2 people and possibly get more tickets (I've asked for a total of 3) so I'm wondering would you get your friend who has a DSLR to come to the ceremony and take photos for you both in the ceremony and before/after rather than paying anywhere from $20 for a single 4x6 photo to $100 for a CD full of formal photos. I'd ask my mum to take them but she isn't as good as my friend at taking photos (she only has a basic point and shoot camer). I've said to my friend that if she does them for me I'll pay for her transport and lunch for a day out as it would require her to take a day off work (she is fine with that)

I'd still probably get one photo from the professionals of me actually getting the certificate but that would be about it.

I'd be taking my camera too

I'd definitely ask for more if you can! No harm in trying!

Congratulations, Jennifer! I'm very happy for you! ♥

I would say that if your friend is willing to do it that you should definitely have her take photos. Sometimes the professional ones mess up - my mom just did a half marathon and the professional finish line photos turned out horrible with her hand over her face; but I took one midway that was really good. Same thing happened when my dad had his PhD graduation - terrible professional photos, but a few good photos between mom and I.

And a very big congratulations to you!!

Thanks - I wasn't going to be applying today but saw that you could apply online and while I was doing it I was chatting to my friend and said that I was applying to graduate but probably wouldn't get the professional photos because of the price
