Flab Redux Day 4

Did you exercise today? What did you do?

Tracyfish 05-26-2011 10:57 AM

Elliptical for 1 hour, 4.45 miles, 602 calories burned. Then "The Social Network" was on as the movie in the Cardio Cinema and I caught it right at the beginning so I switched to the bicycle to finish watching the movie (6.41 miles, 35 min, 168 cal)

Wait....what is Cardio cinema? That sounds awesome!

Well, I met with a personal trainer today, who kicked my ass, by the way, and we started me on a weight lifting plan. She explained all the things I need to do to break this plateau. Turns out I was doing a couple things wrong and that I should be able to break through soon.

I am going to be doing full body weight training every other day with cardio every day (of course, I can take a rest day...but she wants me to shoot for the gym 5 times per week). Also, I wasn't doing interval training....just getting on the elliptical and going for an hour. She said that interval is how you keep your body from falling into a rut. Also, I need to switch up the cardio I am doing...so one day elliptical next day run on the treadmill, etc. etc.

I felt like a total marshmallow today. Her body was so toned and amazing and she is 51 years old. I was so impressed. I feel really motivated to break out of this plateau and get my body toned and in shape!

Highly recommend working with a personal trainer!

Yeah, it's a dark room at the gym with a big screen. They have ellipticals, treadmills and bicycles in there. It really helps me exercise longer.

Nothing today, I had a hair appt out of town, and got home just in time for the kids to get home from school. I have done well with my food though, so that is good.

I had Wendy's for lunch. Fail. LOL! I just started my period and am feeling miserable, plus Jordan was downtown at a "conference" getting treated to friggen Fogo De Chao for lunch. I was feeling sorry for myself and went for the comfort food, which I KNOW is not a solution, so of course now I feel guilty for doing it and sabotaging myself. ::sigh:: This sucks. It's 2011, why isn't there a safe skinny pill by now? LOL!

I want a cardio cinema in my house please! And Jaime, your hair looks hawt!
Good to know about the interval training. I know that the ifit cards make something like that, where you do walking/running and then hop off to do a set of toning exercises. At this point I just need to burn chub. I am adding my booty toning and arm toning dvds next week. I put on muscle crazy fast so I have to work to burn fat faster than I build muscle. I don't want Arnold calves.

Today I did a half hour on the treadmill and some arm weight reps.

I've been eating better-bleh. I traded my waffle out for a high fiber/calcium one, reg syrup for lite, fat free flavored creamer and 100 calorie packs for when I need something sweet. Mr.Salty chocolate covered pretzels are my fave for sure. I've been making bean soups on the weekends to eat with my salad during the week for lunch too. This week lentil!

Kind of an easy day here. Just a bike ride with the kids. Nothing intense. I'm still sore from yesterday!
