Request repeat - a medieval castle kit?

So, a while ago I asked whether someone would be interested in making a castle-themed kit, but it seems that it wasn't such a hit (it even rhymes). :-) I'm repeating my request with more detail and don't worry, this is the last time I'm spamming the forum with it. :-)

At this point the only castle kits in the Shoppe are for kiddos, and what I have in mind is an grown-ups-aimed one - meant for scrapping your travel pages mostly.

As Colleen suggested, it might be a broader-themed kit about ancient architecture. Or it have some elements of romance in it too, which would definitely make it acceptable for people who don't exactly want to scrap castles (I understand that a specific one like that might not be a best-seller).

Some elements that might be used:

- red roses
- ivy
- metal keys and locks
- some wall elements and arches
- arched windows
- metal swirls
- lace
- feathers
- decorative frames
- coat of arms
- banner / flag
- ancient "castle" lamp
- wood railings or some other wood elements
- a staircase
- a clock
- a scroll

And some photo inspiration... taken at the Reichsburg Cochem at the Moselle river.

Thanks for the patience and I promise this is the last time I repeat this request. ;-)

I'd love to help you, but I don't think my style would be the best fit to tackle this type of kit. I tend to lean more cutesy. Just didn't want you to think you were being ignored! :)

Oh thanks Libby, you're sweet as ever. :-) I just wasn't sure if the first time around it was really seen, that's why I risked the repeat. :-)

I agree this would go best with the more vintage inclined designers, like Susan, Kristin, Krystal or Jenn.

I somehow see Misty's style matching this... :)

Shouldn't have forgotten about Misty. Yes, she'd be perfect too.

I was thinking Krystal would be good for this too

Definitely so. There are several names that come to mind and she is one of them.

I could use this type of kit. I have tons of castle pics from when we went to England a few years back that I need to scrap!

We definitely need to form a lobby. I find the demand is surprisingly high. I thought it was only me, but from the previous thread and from this one I gather it's actually an intriguing idea for more people. ;-)

I could use this cause Sam has lots of pics from their trip to Germany back in 1999......

lynnirene 06-09-2011 01:12 PM

count me as one who would buy this kit, also!

I think a kit like this might be good for scrapping pictures I have from St. Augustine here in Florida. Id have to see the kit after its done but I think it would work for other things aside from just scrapping about castles.

This isn't my style of kit either but those photos are gorgeous!!

Thanks! Can you actually see the photos? Because I can't! My site was down today and while it's back, I can't see any pictures that link to it.

ETA: I asked Zora and she said she can see them, too. Obviously I, the site owner, am the only one who can't see them, LOL.

The pictures are beautiful! Speaking from a designer point of view though, if the theme doesn't speak to me, I know that I'm not going to do the kit justice. IMO, It's about finding a designer who is as invested in the theme as you are...kwim?

Absolutely. That's what I'm trying to do by promoting my cause. :-) If there's nobody who can identify with the theme, it's no tragedy, but I want to try!
