Update on my "feeling icky" post

Yeah. Well. Um. It isn't often that I have to admit that I was wrong about something. But well...

I'm pregnant.

LOL I'm in COMPLETE shock and disbelief. I was on the pill! But God had other plans for us. We're completely thrilled, but we're just sorta walking around in a fog right now.

The morning (all-day) sickness is kicking my rear now. The nurse that I talked to on Monday said that I needed to take a home test. I told her, "I'm not pregnant, but I'll take it." You could've knocked me over with a feather when it came back positive. I was SURE I wasn't pg. So, I ran out, bought 2 more tests, and repeated JUST to make sure there wasn't a mistake. LOL A blood test today confirmed it.

So looks like we're going to have a little baby Pritchett around here come February or so! I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers for both me and Jeff while we adjust to this little turn of events. Our 2 children are teenagers, so it's been a while since either of us have done this!

scrapsandsass 07-06-2011 03:16 PM

OMG! Congrats!

Hugs and prayers.

I can only imagine the shock.

Wow.

Hugs!

I told you. :p LOL!!

CONGRATS!!!! You guys will do fine!

kresta 07-06-2011 03:21 PM

OH. MY. HEAVENS. I can only imagine how shocked you guys are. But, how completely exciting!!! I'm so excited for you.

I can understand the disbelief part as well. With our third, we got pregnant on purpose, but when actually got the positive tests back, we walked around for about a week in a fog -- kinda "oh my gosh, what are we doing?!"

Hope you have a great, uneventful pregnancy, and that the sickies go away quickly.

Davita 07-06-2011 03:22 PM

Yay!!!!! What awesome news. Congratulations to your whole family.

CA Dreamer 07-06-2011 03:23 PM

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :) :) :)

I'm really excited for you. I'm praying for you, and Jeff, and little baby Pritchett! And I'm praying for you and Jeff's older kids- that will be an adjustment for them, as well, I'm sure. <3

Sarah8914 07-06-2011 03:37 PM

WOW!!!!! How exciting!!! Congrats! :) How fun that you will have a baby together. :)

Jengerbread88 07-06-2011 03:40 PM

Oh. And for the morning sickness. My mom and I both had HORRIBLE morning sickness for our pregnancies.

I highly recommend vitamin B. If you're not a vitamin girl, I suggest B-Natal pops
(I found mine at Babies R Us, but they sell them online, too).

If that doesn't help, and it's REALLY bad, ask your doctor. I had to keep bags in my car because I would get sick driving past fast food places and smelling them... so doc finally put me on Compazine as needed. It helped a LOT!

Hang in there with the morning sickness thing... it's SO not fun. :(

jacinda 07-06-2011 03:42 PM

HUGE Congrats Libby & Jeff!!!

Happy Now 07-06-2011 03:58 PM

Wow!! Congratulations!!! I can only imagine how shocked you are, but that's a pretty good explanation for feeling icky!!

I hope you'll keep us posted, on how you are feeling and on the baby!! And, since you are starting over with a new little one, please let me know if I can help... I am actually finally in the process of putting away some of my wee baby things (as my wee baby is almost three). So, if you are having a boy, I can hook you up with clothes, a walker, a bath seat, toys... All very gently used (and I'm just west of St. Louis, with family in the Kansas City area). :)

SmallMoments 07-06-2011 03:58 PM

You know I'm excited for you!! :) Praying your all-day sickness doesn't last long.

sczos911 07-06-2011 04:02 PM

Oh.My.Word - LIBBY! HOW awesome is this?!?! What a shocker - I am so happy for you. I wish you 9 months of health.

Wow. Wow. :)

Leah 07-06-2011 04:08 PM

Slipped one past the goalie! lol :) I'm so excited for you.

I should tell you though, I was on the "patch" when Ethan was conceived. He was sort of planned, but not for that time. It was shocking at first, I was a little annoyed, but it was comforting to know that God had other plans for me...as He does with you. I look at Ethan now as my little angel from heaven (although he's so not an angel lol).

I wish you all the best over the next 7-8 months sweetpea.

emmasmommy 07-06-2011 04:10 PM

Jengerbread88 07-06-2011 04:21 PM

Oh, and Libby. By that time, Zach will be in bigger sizes, too, so I'm also totally happy to give you some clothes if you need them (if you have a boy or if you don't mind your girl wearing some boy-ish clothes. I'm sure I've got some gender-neutral stuff, too). :)

AmyG 07-06-2011 04:27 PM

Oh my! HOW EXCITING! Yea, my kids are ten years apart, it's great to have a helper tho, really. Congratulations! I'm definitely adding you guys to my prayer list! :hugs:

pewtertm 07-06-2011 05:57 PM

Oh my goodness, congratulations, Libby! So excited for the both of you! ((hugs)) on the nausea...I had it 24/7 my entire pregnancy.

For the nausea, you might try some ginger, be it ginger tablets, ginger ale, whatnot. Gingersnaps helped for me (even though I don't care for them...they kicked the nausea away for awhile).
