Nothing quite like needing to find a babysitter in a pinch...
to make you realize you have no friends. :crying: I'm supposed to go with Allie to school tomorrow for a special day and my usual "babysitter" - my SIL - can't watch Sheldon (they won't allow siblings to come). I literally have no one I feel I can call up and ask to watch my baby. Sure, I have casual friends, but more like a little chatting at church kind of friends... we never hang out or anything. I guess between this and my Grandma dying this morning (and not really knowing if I can feasibly scrape together the $ to go to her funeral this weekend) I'm just kinda emotional. *sob* Just need a hug. And I don't want to have Allie be the only one there tomorrow without a parent for their special day.

I'm so sorry. Sorry about your grandma. We have our family sitters too. I have no other sitters for us to go out. I hope it works out. Call someone from church. It's not like you would be long!
So sorry!!!!! If I was closer, I would totally be there for you! Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. ((HUGS))
((hugs)) You could google drop in care for your city. I found a place I use here in Lex for instances like that. They were able to get me in right when I called. I'm with Kate though, your church friends might surprise you at their eagerness to watch your baby...I mean, babies are just sweet :) I'm sorry to hear about your grandma.

Oh Megan, I'm sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed. I only have family sitters, too. I agree that you won't be long...I'm SURE someone from church would watch the baby. And you may just make a new closer friend from it :)
I'm so sorry about your grandmother. It's hard when the funeral is far away, too. I went through the same thing. It's a hard decision to make. ((hugs)) |
I am so sorry to hear that your grandma died. I hope you find someone to watch your baby. I can imagine how much that would hurt to miss.
Well, it looks like I'll have ot miss it anyway. The only way we can work out me flying in is if I fly in around the time my dad does so I can grab a ride from San Francisco to Modesto... so I'll be leaving right when she goes to school. Good news is I found someone (very sweet older lady from church) to watch Allie after school until DH picks her up (just me and the baby are flying to the funeral).
Yay, glad you found someone. I was just going to suggest your visiting teachers.
Saying some prayers for you Megan, have safe travels & some (((hugs))). So sorry to hear about your grandma.
Sounds like you found a good solution. So wonderful someone from church was there for you. And I'm glad you get to be there for Grandma. Have a safe trip.
Glad you managed to find someone . . and so sorry for your loss, I was shattered when I lost my dear nanny . . {{HUGS}}
Sorry to hear about your loss... I'm in the same boat - I only have my mom to watch J.... I was going to suggest at church or the YMCA - they have a drop off center, not sure how much it would cost for a non-member, if you don't belong...
I'm glad to hear things worked out - both with the trip for the funeral and for the babysitter. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. *hugs*
